why does sinus "flap" when blown ?01 Oct 2006 00:37 GMT3
In the higher up sinuses what causes a slower flapping or pulsating
sound instead of the usual smooth vibration.  Does this indicate
polyps, swelling or something else ?  Can it be diagnosed without a
scan, by looking into the nostrils ?

For the last half year or so, I've been sporadically using an Ayr
irrigation bottle with Ayr pre-made saline packets (like this:

I hope I'm doing it right. I followed then instructions. Did it once
yesterday and once today. It seems to go in one nostril and out the other. I

Sensitivity to clarithromycin but not roxithromycin17 Sep 2006 14:22 GMT7
Through a happy accident, I was prescribed clarithromycin for two weeks
that had the welcome side effect of eliminating my sinusitis while I
was on it (and increasing my energy levels to near normal). When the
clarithromycin stopped, all the symptoms returned.

Basic Irrigation for Dummies Question13 Sep 2006 19:05 GMT3
I tried irrigation maybe 15 years ago. I now am having sinus problems (not
that I didn't in the interim but I didn't irrigate).
I'd like to try it now, but I don't even know what equipment to get (don't
want to pay an exhorbitant amount either).
