In the higher up sinuses what causes a slower flapping or pulsating sound instead of the usual smooth vibration. Does this indicate polyps, swelling or something else ? Can it be diagnosed without a scan, by looking into the nostrils ?

I hope I'm doing it right. I followed then instructions. Did it once yesterday and once today. It seems to go in one nostril and out the other. I don't see much gunk coming out, just the stuff that went in. I also don't see anything happening 20 minutes later like it talks about ...

Through a happy accident, I was prescribed clarithromycin for two weeks that had the welcome side effect of eliminating my sinusitis while I was on it (and increasing my energy levels to near normal). When the clarithromycin stopped, all the symptoms returned.
