No pathological acid reflux29 Apr 2006 21:28 GMT7
I got a letter from the GI with my pH probe results. In summary, I do
not have actual reflux but apparently I do get some acid where it
doesn't belong because of belching. Please read the following and help
me out with some of the details. My ENT and GI were locked in a turf
What steroid spray has no preservtives?29 Apr 2006 16:32 GMT5
I tryed most of them. Flonase, rhinocort naonex, nasocort. The nasonex I
started using last week and I am no longer hooked on OTC. I was
surprised in 2 days it worked. But the prescription says 2 sprays 2
times a day. It seems like a lot. I do have polyps and I am breathing
Is baking soda needed if salt alone feels fine?28 Apr 2006 23:01 GMT5
Just curious.  I am using hypertonic saline WITHOUT baking soda and it
feels just fine to me.  I am using high grade Kosher salt without
iodine.  Honestly it may even feel better to irrigate without the
baking soda.
Betadine and Hydrogen Peroxide28 Apr 2006 23:01 GMT1
A few people who post, advocate using these solutions in their Hydra
Pulse/Irrigation utensils. When I mentioned this to my specialist he said NO
NO NO.Only saline. He maintains that these chemicals can damage the
mucus/nasal.sinus membranes
Shortness of Breath28 Apr 2006 15:43 GMT1
Haven't posted here for a long time but I'm getting concerned about my
lungs now.  I had FESS (ethmoids, maxillaries with inferior turbs
resected) about a year ago.  I am STILL having issues (not infections)
but clogged ears, bloody crusts, thick mucous and most recently chest
using the hydropulse28 Apr 2006 02:47 GMT1
Just want to be sure it is ok to use the throat attachment instead of
the nasal one in my nose.  Something about the way that it is shaped
helps the water flow further back into my nose where I need it the
most.  Opinions?
bone loss, image guided surgery and polyps27 Apr 2006 02:19 GMT2
Hello, I'm new here, but not new to sinusitis, nasal polyps and a
complete loss of smell. I've had two endoscopic sinus surgeries and
countless courses of antibiotics over the past 13 years. When I went to
my ENT in March he referred me to Mayo Clinic. Mayo did another CT scan
Please help me.25 Apr 2006 12:29 GMT2
I wanted to know if this sounded like sinusitis to you.  I had an upper
respiratory infection a few weeks ago - towards the end of the
infection I was bringing up through my nose and mouth yellow mucous
with dried blood.  I didn't think much of it.  I got better and
to sedum41: looking for ENT in Boston24 Apr 2006 17:10 GMT1
sedum41, you said in one of your posts that you had searched through ENTs in
Boston and found the one with the best reputation. Who is it? I just moved
to Boston and am looking for an ENT to go to.
Keep feeling like vomit, why? 24 Apr 2006 12:57 GMT11
In recent weeks, I keep feeling like vomit but I don't see obvious trigger
for it. I am 29 yr old male, have a long history of sinus problems including
frequent sneeze/runny/stuffy nose. My sinus symptoms have actually relieved
by a lot lately.
HydroPulse question again24 Apr 2006 01:55 GMT14
I recently got hold of the HydroPulse irrigator to help me with my
sinus/ear problems and to see if my cilia will be restored. After using
it, I can detect some strange lingering odor in my nose. I can't
describe it but could this be just the Xylitol from the Breathe-Ease XL

Mucus solvent besides alkalol18 Apr 2006 19:26 GMT2
Hi I am in Canada and I am looking for a mucus solvent besides alkalol to
add to the saline solution that I am currently irrigating with.  I know
about alkalol and I will buy it once I decide on a cheap source that will
ship to Canada.  In the meantime I am wondering what to add ...
Arynetoid erythema18 Apr 2006 16:01 GMT11
Dr. Grossan and of course, anyone with advice, please help me here.  I
have been irrigating for 7 months now and gargle multiple times a day.
The irrigating helps a lot with but has not eliminated my PND.  The
frustration though is the bad breath that I can't seem to get rid of.
Origin of mucous18 Apr 2006 14:24 GMT20
When I have mucous sliding down my throat, is that from my sinuses or
could it be from mucous glands in my throat?
I'm asking because I have both nasal inflammation and LPR and I'm
curious about whether the gunk in my throat is caused by my throat
