Worst infection in memory....30 Aug 2005 06:53 GMT12
I have been sick the last week with the worst sinus infection I can
remember.  It spread into one of my ears & I can't remember when I had
an ear infection.  I've been out of work all week!  I'm getting so
depressed from all of this.
Return of the Aerosol Steroid Nasal Spray!30 Aug 2005 00:55 GMT16
I just read that Aventis, the maker of Nasacort, has a new aerosol version
of Nasacort called "Nasacort HFA", which was approved by the FDA in April
2004. I don't think it's available in the USA yet, don't know why it takes
so long after being approved, but I think it is supposed to ...
Post-Op Infection29 Aug 2005 14:40 GMT5
I just had FESS surgery a month ago and a turbinectomy a couple of years
ago. I didn't "bounce back" from this surgery, and now understand I have
"another" infection. I have been pretty frightened by it, but found some
posts here that it is somewhat common to get an infection ...
Is some fluid entering 'socket' normal for irrigation?29 Aug 2005 02:58 GMT5
When irrigating my left nostril since my FESS, i have had a frequent
sensation that some water was 'escaping' to my left eye.  As this was
just a sensation and i didn't see any real evidence, i didn't think too
much of it.  However, today when irrigating, i definitely had this

I had sinus surgery back in January and it has helped to some degree.
I have continued to flush my sinuses as needed.  Recently one evening
they were really blocked so i went to do my normal flushing and
squeezed the bottle a bit to hard.  I managed to force water into my

I am a 35 year old male. About 15 years ago I broke my nose playing sport

Soon after breaking my nose, I developed what I thought was a cold. I can't

Does ability to breathe mean sinuses are not blocked?21 Aug 2005 19:48 GMT4
Right now, I can breathe freely.  Does that mean openings to my frontal
sinuses are open, my maxillary or both (or possibly neither)?
If the ostium was blocked, would I be able to breathe?  To sum up, what
does ability to breathe through nostrils tell me or not tell me about

OTC Natural Remedies20 Aug 2005 23:37 GMT10
I'm new to the group.  I  found out that I have chronic sinisitis about
6 months ago. I never realized I had it until went to the doctor. I've
been dealing with it since middle school (13/14), and am now 29.
The doctor had me on allergy medications such as claritin, Zyrtek,
Antibiotics and Yogurt20 Aug 2005 23:31 GMT9
Antibiotics are broad spectrum bacteria killers.
Yogurt has MILLIONS of bacteria...
Why eat millions of bacteria only to have the antibiotics KILL them all
and dilute the efficacy of the drug?
Shocked by ENT report20 Aug 2005 21:07 GMT14
After surviving a winter of "hell" with the worst sinus pain I have

with my sinuses and an ID doctor who listened to the ENT and refused to
treat me any longer, (even with positive cultures for blastomyces and

Question for Dr. Grossan on Mayo "snot" theory19 Aug 2005 03:57 GMT26
Dr. Grossan wrote in a recent post:
"Latest miracle cure from Mayo shows that the mucus is the culprit that

same explains why many improve with pulsatile irrigation and other
