Hello everybody! My experiences.19 Apr 2004 21:32 GMT2
I thought that I would tell you about my own sinus problems and what I
have done to rectify the situation.
I first started getting chronic problems in the summer of 1989, featuring
severe headaches, nasal discharge, etc, almost all of the time. Antibiotics
RinoFlow or Hydro Pulse?18 Apr 2004 03:39 GMT9
I am a person that suffers from a chronic low-level sinus infection. Drugs
don't touch it, so I am doing irrigation with my neti pot as the doctor
directed. Thinking that there had to be a better way, I have been
researching different systems.  How do you know which type of ...

SinoFresh17 Apr 2004 16:13 GMT9
I will try to give enough info in this post to get a discussion going. We
can deal with one or two issues at a time or it will get too involved.
Probably the most important issue is that of BKC, the preservative. In a
recent article in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Sugery-Jan 2004 a ...
How to clean the irrigating tip?17 Apr 2004 02:30 GMT1
This might sound over-cautious - but since I've been using the pulsatile irrigator
during a bad sinus infection, I am reluctant to use the same tip now that the
infection has cleared up. I do clean it with soapy water and a mild bleach rinse,
but still I am worried about hard-to-see ...

High blood pressure and sinus medications:15 Apr 2004 15:28 GMT2
I have a severe sinus infection, but i also have high blood pressure. I've been
taking clarinex, but it seems to run my blood pressure up. Does anyone  know of
a sinus solution that doesn't raise blood pressure.?
Somnoplasty?15 Apr 2004 04:26 GMT4
My ENT is recommending Somnoplasty vs. laser surgery to reduce my very very
enlarged inferior turbinates.
There seems to be some controversy about Somnoplasty in the web literature
etc. It seems like a good bet to me -- minimally invasive and preserves
A question about Hydro Pulse for Post Nasal Drip15 Apr 2004 04:23 GMT2
A Beatrice S asked a quiestion at the guestbook of www.ent-consult.com about
use of Hydro Pulse for post nasal drip which I am happy to answer but the
return address given didn't work.
Since I assume  Beatrice is on this newsgroup, the answer to your question is
Suggestion For Dr. Grossan:  Distinguishing Sinusitis From Lower Respiratory15 Apr 2004 04:22 GMT1
In my experience, physicians often can't tell whether a cough that
brings up sticky sputum is sinusitis, bronchitis, or asthma.
Perhaps a patient could irrigate with a solution containing a "tagging"
chemical like a harmless dye, or saccharine, or maybe something mildly
Do I still have a sinus infection?14 Apr 2004 15:58 GMT5
I was diagnosed with a sinus infection in early March.  The initial
symptoms I had were: right upper teeth ache, tender spot by the right
eye, pressure along the right cheek bone and fatigue.  After 3
different antibiotics, 1 week of amoxicillin (cause I was still
Proposal:  Let's Update The FAQ For This NG13 Apr 2004 20:05 GMT30
The alt.support.sinusitis FAQ has not been updated in over 3 years and
so it is badly in need of revision.
Version 5.1, published 2001, is auto-posted here periodically.  It was
maintained by Reid Goldsborough.  But since he has left this NG,
Helpl: very bad nasal congestion 13 Apr 2004 01:36 GMT3
I?ve been having very bad nasal congestion for the last 6 months with significant pressure around the eyed and forehead on and off. The CT showed enlarged (huge) inferior turbinates and a very very badly deviated septum. Otherwise it showed normal sinuses (very small amount of ...
Problems with breathing11 Apr 2004 15:48 GMT2
Hi, I have a problem where only my right nostril is able to breathe in
and out. It seems that my left nose has an extra cartilidge in it.
With this in mind, if I want this corrected, is there anything OTHER
than surgery? I have a BC Carecard and I'm not sure if that'll cover
