nasal congestion30 Apr 2004 15:01 GMT4
About a year ago, out of nowhere, I started experiencing serious nasal
congestion whenever I went to lie down, making sleep difficult, even
though it went away the minute I stood up. As months passed it would
stop altogether, only to come back, stop, ad return. Steroid-based
Chronic sinuses, and now deafness30 Apr 2004 05:21 GMT5
I had FESS x 2 in '96 & '98, battled encroaching infections & congestion since
then fairly successfully with irrigations, antihistamines, decongestants,
guaifenisin, etc., and managed to only have to resort to antibiotics about twice a
year (Tequin lately).
Will irrigating make me dizzy?30 Apr 2004 05:13 GMT12
Hi.  Not sure what I have, but have had it for years now.   Possibly
migraines, possibly sinus headaches, and more than likely both.   In
any event, the sinus headaches I get also make me sick to my stomach,
very hot, very weak, and leave me wiped out for the rest of the day.

I have chronic sinusitis and recently I have tested positive to MRSA
(Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) in my nose.
Staph. Aureus is a common cause of sinusitis, treatable by antibiotics.  A

Sick of my sinuses29 Apr 2004 15:27 GMT11
I posted earlier in March about having 6 sinus surgeries. Well I had
my 7th one the very end of March. Usually when I have surgery I see a
dramatic difference after, especially after the packing comes out. I
know that things stay swollen for a a few weeks. But I'm still having
Bactroban Irrigation Destroyed My Sense Of Smell29 Apr 2004 15:24 GMT4
I tried irrigating with Bactroban solution, on the advice of an ENT.
10 minutes after I used it for the first time, my sense of smell totally
disappeared, I got a post nasal drip (mild though).
So I stopped using it.
BZK29 Apr 2004 15:22 GMT1
Does anyone know which nasal corticosteroid sprays do not have BZK other
than Rhinocort?
If BZK were causing me some problems, what would the symptoms be?
Thanks --

historical question on the treatment of severe sinus infections?28 Apr 2004 06:16 GMT14
I'm currently on my second round of antibiotics in this years edition of my never
ending battle against chronic sinus infections.
What did people do for chronic severe sinus infections prior to the availability of
antibiotics?

FWIW: Sinofresh and Swiffer duster24 Apr 2004 21:03 GMT2
For what it's worth. My husband has had some relief using Sinofresh. He has
been allergy tested and came up negative, so Claritin and Allegra don't
have any affect. He's supposed to get further testing from an
endocrinologist, but can't afford that yet. But Sinofresh does seem to
Ordered my Hydro Pulse today24 Apr 2004 20:52 GMT2
Ordered a Hydro Pulse today , I will let you all know what I think of it
when it arrives. I just wish that it didn't take so long to get as I am
having problems as I type. The people who have ordered them, did it take
7-10 days to get it like they said ?
