| Some relief with Uroxatral | 25 Apr 2004 21:44 GMT | 7 |
FWIW, I had to see a Uro due to a small bump in the PSA. DRE and retest of PSA showed all clear. I mentioned to him about the chronic prostatitis and he gave me some samples of Uroxatral to try. Apparently it is primarily for BPH but he said it sometimes provides

Not sure if the last one went through. Sorry, for not believing some of you about Bacteria and E.Coli. Well, it turns out that I do in fact have "Escherichia Coli." I had like 5 urinalysis/cultures before, none of which discovered it. This last one

| Sorry for not understanding....my case out to be BACTERIAL. | 16 Apr 2004 03:40 GMT | 4 |
Sorry for not believing many of you on this board. It maybe that 5% is really bacterial prostatitis and we are that 5%. I did not believe that I was, for a long time. All my Urinalysis would come out NEG for bacteria, and I would assume it was not there. I had

| An experience with recurrant prostatitis | 11 Apr 2004 04:30 GMT | 66 |
I don't read this newsgroup much anymore for two reasons: a serious and sincere post very often results in an abusive attack on the poster, and the newsgroup has arranged itself into "camps," if you will, each camp refusing to acknowledge that there may be such things as bacterial ...

OK, I'm ready to try going the avenue of nanobacteria for my urinary problems. I'm dead certain my condition is caused by a bacterial infection of some sort even tho' they can't culture anything from my urine.

| prostatitis + urethritis | 08 Apr 2004 23:29 GMT | 2 |
I have had prostatitis for about 4 years now and it comes and goes. Its mostly gone though. Last time it manifested, I also had urethritis. I tested negative for STD's. Now, just like 3 months later, I think it is coming back...again with urethritis. How common

| likelyhood of Resitance with ABX?!?! | 08 Apr 2004 08:00 GMT | 5 |
What are the odds of a bacterial infection of the prostate being resistant to abx's? Wouldn't the bacteria likely be susceptible by most abxs? If not, wouldn't swtiching to a 2nd class of abx's (asuming u tried cipro first) likely result in it being sensitive.

| I can't tell people I have prostatitis | 04 Apr 2004 23:52 GMT | 3 |
I believe my prostatitis was initially caused by an STD (that's what was found)although I think it's gone now, so anyway I don't want to tell people about it. There's a problem though, I can't drink alcohol as a result of this disease and it looks like this will continue for a
