RRP Surgery on 5/14.
Original Gleason was 3+4.  Two subsequent hospitals rated the slides
at 3+3.  Post-op biopsy rated it 3+4, plus found another tumor .5 cm
on the other side of the prostate.  Negative margins.

Thanks to all who posted on this board.  It has been very helpful and
encouraging.
Three weeks after open (no robot) RP at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, a
brief  summary of my experience:

posts this morning and at Noon, I received 100 messages telling me that Time
Warner had stopped its news service.  Not alt.  Not the "big 8".  None.

Reported in at 5:45 AM with the usual hurry up and wait routines.  Finally
into the OR about 8:30 and after the anesthesia guy injected his stuff into
my IV I remember nothing until I was in my room.  Some minor pain for the
first couple of hours,  but rapidly became just ...

It's been a year since my first post, and a lot has happened since.
On the 23 Nov 2007 I had a TURP procedure, resulting in removal of
catheter 2 days later after it being in since 22 Jan, what a relief I
can tell everyone

I was told today by the blood center rep, that you need to be in cancer
"remission" for 2 years to donate blood. I always thought it was more like 5
years? Anyone have any experience with this?
