Hormone therapy: weight gain, muscle loss, bone density, fatigue &     exercise?30 Apr 2008 03:40 GMT5
I've only been on hormone therapy for a couple of weeks but I'm not
taking any chances and exercising more than I've ever done in my life
to stave off possible side effects such as listed in the subject
heading.

Intermittent Hormone Therapy29 Apr 2008 09:49 GMT25
Let me get right to the point:  by the docs standards, I don't
qualify.  PSA was too high pre op (15), and too high post op (1.37),
and has mets to the lymphs (pre op) as well.  Nonetheless, I started
Casodex for a couple of weeks, followed by the ubiquitous shot of

US vs. UK deaths from prostate cancer29 Apr 2008 06:02 GMT10
A new study indicates a dramatic improvement in U.S. prostate
cancer mortality as compared to the U.K.  Apparently, most
cancers are showing very similar mortality characteristics in
the two countries, but not PCa.  Many anti-PSA testing experts

Anyone else here take a daily dose of Turmeric? I add about a quarter of
a teaspoon of Turmeric powder to OJ mixed with Pomegranate Concentrate
daily. The pills were too costly.

Biopsy?28 Apr 2008 19:01 GMT22
I'm 51 y/o with history of chronic prostatitis. Just had an increase in
PSA from 1 to 1.8 over one year. My uro is ordering a biopsy. I asked
him why not repeat PSA, just in case? He said the labs don't make
mistakes. Should I push him on this or just accept the biopsy?

Slight drop in PSA, but the right direction27 Apr 2008 17:52 GMT10
As a recap, had seeds 10/23/06, then 35 IMRT. PSA dropped from 13.8 at
diagnosis to 3.3 on 1/23/07. Then to 2.2 on 4/23/07. So far so good.
Then on 10/23/07 it went up to 2.5. A little scary. I sent an email to
Strum on P2P. He pretty much said I was doing everything right with
