When to start ADT after RP?17 Mar 2008 20:24 GMT44
I had my RP 5 weeks ago but have advanced pca.  My psa is already
starting to rise (0.8 at 3 weeks, 1.37 at 5 weeks).  I know I have to
go on hormone therapy, most likely Lupron and Casodex, although the
specifics have not been discussed.
What to ask an oncologist (need help brainstorming)?17 Mar 2008 11:46 GMT39

Houston urologist responded to my question about my three recent
detectable PSAs (after IMRT in 2005) w/ the recommendation to "sit
tight" (his words) for 6 months and then retest.
Changes for Jim16 Mar 2008 22:18 GMT6
Well, guys and wives, last week was interesting.  Jim got a call from his
doctor's office.  Surgery has been pushed back to April.  Our urologist, the
one who took such good care of me when I had four kidney stones at once, has
been very ill with some of his own!  We know his ...

At his request, the following is from Stavros Mochos; whom some of you may
remember:
Thanks, Steve.  It is really nice to hear from you.
I'm fine so far as the PSA goes:  it has been between 1 and 1.5 all along,

Radioactive gold nanoparticles12 Mar 2008 13:20 GMT2
This looks to be the most promising research to come to clinical trials in
the next year or two. Will be following this closely to see if it comes to
light.

Androgen Deprivation Syndrome11 Mar 2008 21:36 GMT3
There appears here to be a substantial lack of knowledge about the SEs
of ADT, also known as Androgen Deprivation Syndrome (ADS) and what to do
about it.
Here's a link to one of twenty articles on the subject on the
Need help with AMS 800.11 Mar 2008 15:32 GMT7
Can anyone please tell me how to activate the the AMS 800 artificial
urinary sphincter?  I deactivated the device but now cannot get it to
work again.  I thought to reactivate the thing you just squeezed the
bulb at the bottom of the control, but that is not working.  Of

Here's a bit of background:

Re: When to start ADT.. etc. The Nestin factor, guys?09 Mar 2008 06:32 GMT18
I am standing on the brink of ADT, so have read all these threads with
great interest, and I thank all contributors - including all the usual
suspects - in our NG they are admirable and highly informed ones!
Bogey I'm sure would have been proud of them.
