Thank you to everyone for all the information and support. Had a Ct

Question re. hemorrhoids and EBRT08 Nov 2007 22:50 GMT2
I have a friend whose father is 81.  He had EBRT for PCa about 4 years
ago.  Over the past couple of years he's developed a problem with
hemorrhoids that seems to be getting worse.  He never had that problem
before.  Does EBRT cause, or exacerbate, hemorrhoids?  (Apparently the
Cryotherapy08 Nov 2007 16:52 GMT4
I've read about this described as SeedNet, where ice crystals are
inserted through small needles to destroy the prostate tissue.
It reads like there are minimal SE, quick recovery, even done under
local anesthesia.

I'm 59 PSA 4.9 Gleason 6 (3+3) one out of 13 positive ultrasound shows
nothing size consistent with reading, DRE showed nothing, free PSA low

Atlanta for Da vinci. Dr. up there does 200+ a year since 2003, but

you need to incline your head a bit and you will see it.

Who Can Pass This Test?06 Nov 2007 22:43 GMT9
The Bathtub Test
During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how
you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.
"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a

November 2007 follow up: "Is melanoma simply a vitamin D deficiency cancer?"06 Nov 2007 21:20 GMT1
TO: All melanoma researchers, doctors, and patients.
The hormonal form of vitamin D, which is activated throughout the
body, inhibits the growth of human melanoma cells.  (See Colston et
al. Endocrinology. March 1981)
To Sy06 Nov 2007 14:23 GMT64
No one wants a pissing contest with you. Most of the men out here have been
here for quite a while. Most have been treated by one form or another. Many
are experiencing undetectable PSA's but others are fighting the beast hoping
to buy enough time to watch their daughter graduate ...
HIFU My Latest -and Overall Summary06 Nov 2007 12:34 GMT6
Oct.31 Follow-up appointment after second HIFU, on seminal vesicle.
Appointment was officially with my consultant, but the NHS dice throw
put me in with another specialist, one I'd never seen before. In the
past I have said, 'No, I want to see Mr Emberton', but it hadn't
Basic woody question06 Nov 2007 01:13 GMT8
Had a RP 5/05 and haven't had sex since.  Strange thing is, my lack of
libido has kept this ED rather manageable.  I still love to look at women,
porn, oh yeah and my wife, and I can still orgasm with a lot of work and
imagination, but its like a scared turtle most the time and ...
thanks05 Nov 2007 22:24 GMT2
Have read Dr. Walsh's up-dated Book, confused me until I started re-
reading it  Rise in PSA over a 9 year period from a 1 in 98 to a 4.9
in April has stayed there. So do I just tell my Uro to send the Biopsy
to one of those labs or do I do it ? I don't know him that well,
Rising PSA after RRP; what treatments has this group considered?04 Nov 2007 23:31 GMT12
Hi everyone.  I'd love to hear from anyone who has been faced with rising
PSA after a radical prostatectomy, and what options they considered, or what
treatment they're now on.  Here's my story;
Robotic RP in Nov 2005 Gleason 4+3, T2c, PSA was 5.7, age 49.
After biopsy, next step...treatment of choice03 Nov 2007 17:56 GMT5
Of course that's what most of this group talks about, so I know it's
redundant (and I apologize for posting so many times) but I'm big on
summaries and recaps, etc.
I'm expecting a high Gleason score from my bipopsy for a number of
Obesity and Surgery03 Nov 2007 12:38 GMT5
Unfortunately,I joined this little club yesterday when my biopsy came back
with a Gleason score of 6 (3+3) to go with an earlier PSA of 7 and an
"abnormally firm" prostate by DRE.  My urologist ordered a bone scan and
abdominal/pelvic CT for next week and we started to discuss ...
