I thought this article was interesting as there seems to be a lack of awareness of the amount of radiation one receives from these scans. I've read where the amount on average is 700 times the amount of a chest x-ray and that is if the machine is properly calibrated.

Summary: got any advice for those in the final stages, with perhaps a few months left to live? I read lots and lots about prostate cancer treatments but they are mostly for those with early detection. I am to the point there is not

I am a 5-year breast cancer survivor. Publicity, articles, advice and research on breast cancer are endless and well-publicized. Every informed woman knows what to look for and what routine tests to have done.

I am after radical surgery and radiation therapy. I am in the second year of hormone therapy with rising PSA. I am looking for a trial that is relatively promising and can be entered. I am living in Seattle but I could stay anywhere for a few months.

17mo's after salvage radiation my psa is on the rise (see below). The med onc I saw at MSKCC suggests I participate in trial. For guys like me...high doubling time, psa>0.1, no mets, primary therapies failed etc, etc.
