Not OT--Eliz. Edwards' Cancer27 Mar 2007 22:09 GMT19
After listening to Mrs. Edwards describe her prognosis and condition as
"chronic" and a summary of continuing treatment, I thought of possible
similarities to recurrent PCa.  I read somewhere that there is a
relationship between breast cancer and prostate cancer in genetic

Treatment Decision27 Mar 2007 18:42 GMT10
This is an update to my husband's diagnosis on February 20, 2007 - PSA
3.5 (actually 3.14 taken two days before the positive biopsy, albeit
at a different lab), overall gleason 3+4 (80% 3's, 20% 4's in the mid;
gleason 3+3 in the base). I'm posting this as I was requested to
Well I'm Officially A Charter Member.27 Mar 2007 16:21 GMT26
Biopsy results were positive. 3+4 on the left, 3+3 on the right. Bone
and Cat scans next.
I need to get more educated before I opt for a treatment.
Interesting study of bias in medical research27 Mar 2007 15:26 GMT2
I have just watched a video of a fascinating presentation by
Prof. John Ioannidis at NIH entitled: "Great Teachers:
Translation, Replication and Credibility of Research Findings".
It is available on the web at:
Bounce vs. Recurrence27 Mar 2007 11:52 GMT14
This point is not at all clear to me. How can one determine iniiatially
whether an increase in psa post treatment is a bounce, or the disease on
the move.
At what point is it prudent to start HT.
Off Record27 Mar 2007 04:56 GMT6
Hello All, Still trying to figure out News Groups/
Glad I can say some things off record......
I guess it is great when a prostate cancer survivor can find other items to
get lost in rather than cancer research.
light IC pads, 4" X 6"27 Mar 2007 02:09 GMT6
I wish they made light IC pads, 4" X 6". For some reason all the light
pads that I know of are only a couple inches wide, and seven or so
inches long.
Great BPH cure/treatment - menthol/salicyclic acid27 Mar 2007 00:03 GMT1
I did a lot of research into finding a cure for BPH. I made a pencil
note of success using 1-2% Menthol and 10-20% Salicyclic acid.  I
found nothing else on that, and tried some herbal remedies instead.  I
finally decided to try it.  I applied it once a day (the article said
Prostate Cancer Survival Worse After Radiation26 Mar 2007 19:56 GMT12
Prostate Cancer Survival Worse After Radiation Than Other Modalities
March 9, 2007 ? A new analysis that compared 3 common treatment options for
prostate cancer found a difference between them. Men who were treated with
external-beam radiotherapy did not live as long as those who ...
off subject (newsgroups)26 Mar 2007 00:51 GMT17
I have an ancient dial-up connection and have moved forward to a
broadband connection.  My old server had News Groups which I used all the
time and accessed this group.
With Hughes.Net, I do not have a news server and was looking for some
PSA25 Mar 2007 21:57 GMT12
I am having trouble going to the bathroom.  I go frequently and in a
very small amount.  It is not painful, but it is uncomfortable.
I had a PSA test done and it was 4.75.  My urine showed up a little
blood.
Post Op Week 425 Mar 2007 05:21 GMT4
It has been just over 4 weeks since my surgery and it's time for an
update. My incontinence has improved to the point that I only use one
pad a day. I am confident that I will be fully continent soon. My Uro
gave me Viagra to help "prime the pump" and instructed me to use it
Chronic inflammation24 Mar 2007 18:25 GMT6
The doctor showed me the results and checked each one off and said
negative.
I have a very poor memory, but I don't remember him even mentioning
inflammation.
