Good soy , flax, and fish oil for PCa patients27 Feb 2007 19:05 GMT28
I just left a class taught by a very impressive dietitian. She has at
least one advanced degree in the field, follows the research closely,
treats a *lot* of aging U.S. men (she works for the U.S.'s largest PCa
research agency, the VA), attends national and international ...
I thought of Hughie . . .27 Feb 2007 00:09 GMT3
I though of Hughie's recipes when I read today of some *appetizers*
being served by American restaurants. 2,000 calories and 150 grams of
fat, more than half of them being sat fat, plus up to 32 teaspoons of
sugar. That's more calories than most of us need in a whole day and

Post Op Day 426 Feb 2007 19:57 GMT10
I just got home from my RLRP and I'm resting comfortably. I thought
this would be a good time to share my experiences with others who are
still considering the various treatment options.
I checked into the hospital Tuesday morning and was wheeled to the

Variation In The Definition Of Biochemical Recurrence In Patients

UroToday.com- One of the problems with prostate cancer outcomes studies
is the lack of standardization in the definition of "treatment failure".
The value of color doppler targeted biopsy26 Feb 2007 13:53 GMT9
Some of you may recall my post of about a month ago regarding my
husband's rising psa. A brief history: His psa rose from 1.8 in 11/05
to 2.6 in 6/06. He had a PCA3+ test in 8/06 which came back positive.
He then had an 18 core biopsy later in 8/06 which came back negative.
Father's PSA Level26 Feb 2007 03:13 GMT9
My father had his prostate removed in March 2006.  After surgery, the tests
came back stating the cancer had not spread outside of his prostate & the
cancer was very isolates to the left side.  Since his surgery his PSA levels
have been at .04, his last test showed it has risen to  ...
Leonardis Clinic - Ch 226 Feb 2007 03:09 GMT9
I've had a setback in my condition.
I just spent 5 days in the hospital with Pneumonia.  That has
wrecked what little lung capacity I had.  I'm now on Oxygen
24 x 7.  My Pulmonologist told me that the lungs would recover
Inspiration: ADT Miracle?25 Feb 2007 14:20 GMT5
[I borrowed the following from theYahoo PC group.  The woman who
posted it is Kathy Meade, and so I want to give her proper credit.
She is a PC widow who is a godsend to the PC community.  She posts a
lot of great articles and gives good advice.  Thank you, Kathy.]

Still bucketing sweat 2 hours later...
Found some "TomYum" stock cubes in my local Chinese supermarket.
Today - thinking must have some Tom Yum - a favourite food from Far East
days.
ADT Causes Periodontal Disease??24 Feb 2007 22:39 GMT6
As if we didn't have enough to worry about, now comes a study that
*suggests* that ADT might cause dental troubles.
See: Famili et al., "The effect of androgen deprivation therapy on
periodontal disease in men with prostate cancer."
Pathologic state III23 Feb 2007 23:00 GMT2
I just had a robotic prostatectomy and am concerned that the pathology
findings moved me from T1C to T3A. Evidently this is because one small
area of the tumor extended through the prostate capsule. My Gleason
was 6 (pre and post surgery) and only 5% of one lobe was cancerous.

Chemo for PCa?23 Feb 2007 00:23 GMT6
A young friend of mine was diagnosed with PCa around Thanksgiving. He's at
Kaiser, a large HMO with a good reputation, but he is getting a course of
treatment that seems odd to me. He's an immigrant, being treated by a doctor
who does not speak his language, and he is not ...
