DX'd with G7 - so which treatment: RT or RP?05 Oct 2006 15:10 GMT31
Last week I got my biopsy report, and one sample was cancerous. The
urologist says G7 (4+3). I didn't know enough to ask, until I found
this group. So I don't know my TNM stages (my PSA tests over 6 months
were 6.4, 5.9, and 7.4, thus the biopsy.
Post-surgery PSA05 Oct 2006 01:55 GMT7
It seems as if many here who have had a prostatectomy have their PSA
rechecked within a month or two after the surgery.
My doc has me scheduled for first post surgery PSA 3 months after
surgery. Is this unusual?
Meet with Surgeon on Wednesday05 Oct 2006 01:55 GMT19
Paul and I meet with a surgeon on Wednesday.  He does the robotic
surgery.  I am not sure if the does RRP or only robotic. I would like
to nail down the top questions I should not leave the office without
knowing. Can you help me out?  Also we meet with oncology radiologist
Anyone has IMRT only and the results thus far?05 Oct 2006 01:37 GMT11
My Uro says that IMRT is currently one of the best option besides RP,
but he also suggested seed implants followed by IMRT.  To those that
opted for IMRT ONLY, how did you fare with it, and how long post RT are
you now? Thanks.

Timing of Recurrence?03 Oct 2006 15:50 GMT36
If a person is going to get a recurrence of PC is there a time frame
when it's more likely to happen?
I thought if  a person had surgery and there was ca left it would show
up on the first PSA test.  Why wouldn't it?
4 Years post RP03 Oct 2006 00:57 GMT27
Does the PSA anxiety ever decrease?  4 years later and still undetectable.
less than 0.03, makes me cured... well at least for the next 8-10 months
that is.  This time I decided to ignore my URO's 6 months advice, and wait a
full year before getting my PSA at my regular GP's ...
Friend's super prostate03 Oct 2006 00:50 GMT24
Old family friend with a long family history of PCA has been getting a
yearly biopsy forever, due to elevated PSA.Well now at 60 years old he
finally got a positive. Here's the problem. Seems his prostate is so huge,
that his uro won't attempt the surgery. I find this a bit ...
Question about biopsies03 Oct 2006 00:10 GMT6
Please excuse a lurker asking a stupid question...
It's my understanding that, in the case of suspected testicular cancer, it's
always a case of "shoot first, ask questions later", i.e. the risk of
accidentally spreading cancerous cells to the rest of the body through

dr told me not to worry if it went up, prior to test.
Anyone here get a PAP test?02 Oct 2006 15:53 GMT4
My understanding is that the PAP test is an old (pre-PSA) test that few
use today. Apparently, if your PAP was elevated, you usually had
advanced (i.e. incurable) PCa, and if it was not elevated, you may or
may not have PCa. Certainly, a less than perfect test.
Surgical Path Report Question01 Oct 2006 05:11 GMT6
My surgical path report indicates pT2NX as the stage. Is this the same
as pT2a or pT2b?
In other words, what other info in the path report would indicate it
was unilateral or bilateral, which I believe the a and b are
