| Any new news on HIFU? | 22 Jul 2006 00:10 GMT | 6 |
I'm having my bone/CT scans next Wed. Assuming they are negative (please God, make it so) I'm planning to have the prostate removed by a da Vinci surgeon. But I've been a little curious about HIFU. I'm planning to go to Detroit around mid-August to talk to Dr. Menon at

| Prostate path question | 21 Jul 2006 22:57 GMT | 1 |
I can across my "old" pathology report while cleaning my home office today. (Shows you just how many times that I actually clean it). It appears from the report that my particular tumor was found in both anterior lobes and focally extends into the posterior lobes. I thought

| Inflated PSA | 21 Jul 2006 02:09 GMT | 18 |
I guess I'm a little disappointed with my doctor and urologist. As I said in an earlier post my PSA was 20.3. The DRE was normal and the ultrasound showed nothing. It seems like now some decisions will be made based on my high PSA.

Has anyone had a RP with nerve bundle(s) removed, and a nerve graft to replace it (them)? I assume if you have perineural invasion, that invaded bundle will be excised.

| NOW they get the robot..... | 19 Jul 2006 18:16 GMT | 7 |
I had my traditional RRP last July from the Dr. Louis Molina quoted in the article below. The hospital mentioned is within sight of my house. If only I'd gotten prostate cancer AFTER age 50 like most guys....I could have had the robot. Not that I'm complaining - they apparently

| Just diagnosed | 19 Jul 2006 17:47 GMT | 34 |
I am 57 years old. I went in for a general physical a few weeks ago. I felt great. Everything was fine. My BP ws 120/76 and my pulse was 48. The nurse was quite surprised that I take no medications. To say that I've been a health nut for 30 years is an understatement. I exercise

| Started IMRT today | 18 Jul 2006 05:36 GMT | 15 |
I feel like I've finally begun the beginning of the end today. I'm taking 40 treatments then maybe......only maybe.....Lupron or something for a while. Got a PSA 06/30, it came back 0.04 down from 0.06 a couple of months ago, which was down from 36.8 in Feb. That one was pre-RP and

Has anyone had a prostatectomy of any sort while under regional anesthesia, i.e. spinal/epidural? This I might consider for the robotic procedure but not sure if it has been done. Will ask doc but just curious.
