RP:  Ballpark Planning Numbers Needed17 Feb 2006 00:33 GMT8
I have been diagnosed with PCa and am scheduled to see a surgeon next
week to schedule an RP.  My case is complicated by the fact that I am
the sole caregiver for my wife who has MS.  She is able to walk...
barely... with the aid of a walker but falls frequently and needs help
Antioxidants don't prevent prostate cancer16 Feb 2006 23:07 GMT5
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A high intake of vitamin E, beta-carotene,
and vitamin C does not prevent prostate cancer, results of a large study
suggest. However, smokers may have a lower risk of advanced prostate
cancer if their intake of vitamin E is high, and men with low dietary
Vitamins and Fish Oil (Omega's)16 Feb 2006 22:32 GMT11
I have recently started taking fish oil, and one multi vitamin.
I was listening to a news talk radio, and a Dr. was on and said it is good
to take Fish Oil (less lead and mercury) for health, and one multi-vitamin.
Then I heard today on another radio talk show, that cancer cells ...

Mixed Update16 Feb 2006 15:04 GMT1
On the 14th I got the 20 month post seeding PSA results, .2, I'm pleased
with that. The bypass surgery that was scheduled for today has been bumped
to the 22nd. I was looking forward to getting it behind me. It's analogous
to painting the house, I don't look forward to the ...

I am scheduled to have an RRP in less than three weeks and am trying to get

just diagnosed iv  update15 Feb 2006 17:55 GMT4
Today is approximately the 5th 1/2  life after brachytherapy, radiation

5 stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance15 Feb 2006 12:28 GMT9
Anyone care to comment about the stages of grief?  In my experience
they don't come like soldiers in a row, but all mixed in together.  The
thing I'm finding interesting is the denial.  (I guess they do *tend*
to come in an order.) Or maybe its bargaining.  Any of these sound

Omega-6 fats cause prostate tumors to grow twice as fast
Omega-6 fatty acids--such as those found in corn oil--caused human
prostate tumors in cell culture to grow twice as quickly as tumors to
which omega-6 fats had not been added, according to a study conducted at
Tales of a Reinserted Catheter15 Feb 2006 00:43 GMT14
Nothing earth shattering here just telling a story. The week after RRP
was rather uneventful. Rest, boredom, discomfort, lots of family and
friend support. On the eighth day the catheter came out. A hurrah
moment if ever there was one. After not peeing in the normal sense for

RP'S are a great way to buy your dream Carribean condo14 Feb 2006 14:08 GMT11
all you guys getting RP's at the drop of a hat, are naive wimps! My
grandfather lived to be 94, and died in '55, no prostate problems and if
there were,  they were not evident. I have yet to see anyone really die from
PCa, have you?
