Vitamin V and its use: a question.20 Aug 2005 00:01 GMT11
Okay.  This will undoubtedly be a repeat of a previous question but I
noticed it this morning and it got me to wondering about Viagra and the
other two 'Willie-up'meds.  It's been two years since my RRP and one
year since my EBRT and Lupron.  I have tried all three ED meds with
Nerve Sparing and Impotence19 Aug 2005 21:54 GMT5
As you can see from the signature, there was nerve sparing...
How long before I should start worrying about permanent impotence??
Have tried Viagra, for a short time, and am now on Cialis...

Path report in after 8/12 RRP.....19 Aug 2005 21:46 GMT1
Got a little impatient and called Dr. Partin's office today to see if
my report was back.  He wasn't in but I talked to her nurse and,
understanding my anxiousness, she gave me the good news I wanted to
hear but said Dr. Partin would be calling me in the next day or so.
Pathology after RP: Negative margins!19 Aug 2005 21:27 GMT5
After freezing and slicing up my prostate into myriad sections (yum!), the
pathologist said I had negative margins! He said I had cancer in two, not
one, lobe but that they were both Gleason 6.  The cystogram showed no leaks,
so the catheter came out -- good riddance! But my ...

Incontinence and how many pads per day.18 Aug 2005 20:20 GMT2
The uro's office just called a just told me that I had a positive urine
culture. The physician's assistant told me something that I have not thought
of before.  He said that the sphincter works both to keep the urine in and
to keep bad things out.  When a person is incontinent, ...
Back in SC after successful RRP at Hopkins....18 Aug 2005 11:43 GMT10
Surgery on Friday morning went great (1 hr 15 minutes).  Dr. Partin
used the words "perfect surgery" with my wife and pastor.  Now we await
the pathology report that should be in sometime in the next couple of
days.
Pain18 Aug 2005 06:52 GMT15
Short (30 seconds roughly) sharp (makes me stop walking and never happens
when sitting) and intense (battling to stand and not topple). Comes and
goes. Comes for that time length, may come back in an hour or so and may not
come back for a few nights.
Had Robotic RP 3 days ago17 Aug 2005 21:27 GMT8
With a lot of helpful input from this group + Walsh and 2 other good books,
I opted for Robotic RP with Dr. Ash Tewari at Weil Cornell Columbia
Presbyterian in New York City. He and his team are impressive: sharp, caring
and apparently superbly competent. After a day of recovery ...
Another newby... looking at RRP and the "nerve-sparing" technique17 Aug 2005 20:06 GMT18
Hi... I'm new to this group after just being told on Monday I have prostate
cancer at 49 (PSA 5.9, Gleeson 3+3, apparently without any perineural
invasion).  I've been given the usual books by my urologist, but came across
the Wall Street Journal article on a "nerve-sparing" ...
Waiting for PSA test after 5 or 6 years17 Aug 2005 19:44 GMT16
We are never free.....I had to get my Dr. to prescribe a blood test.
After 5 to 6 years this should not be a shock.
Anyway, my blood vessels closed up tight....small veins.
The people did not want to take a test unless diagnosis...I was not happy,
diarrhea,  after seed implants17 Aug 2005 16:59 GMT4
Had my implants in March, in June really bad bouts of diarrhea
started.
Not much in the way of stomach cramping but an extreme urge "to go"
End up passing just mucus and almost no bowel control.  Trying to self

Second PSA Following Seeds17 Aug 2005 02:36 GMT5
I got the results of the second PSA assay post treatment and as expected, it
was higher. The test in April showed <0.1 ng/ml, the test this week came
back  0.3
Back in April I was cautioned by my Dr. that despite the fact that my last 4
