After my last PSA 3 months ago I was getting a bit nervous, as it was
increasing.  Just got the call from my uro's office:
Proton Therapy22 Jun 2005 11:49 GMT4
I have just been diagnosed with PC and am exlporing treatment options.
Has anyone here had any experience with, or know anything about PROTON
beam radiation treatment?  There are as far as I have found only 5 or 6
centers equipped for this therapy, but it is appealing because of ...
What we know so far22 Jun 2005 11:37 GMT7
Hi gang!
Well, we know almost nothing other than it probably is nothing. They gave
him a round of antibiotics as it could be bacterial induced. They did
another blood test on him looking for another protein marker. (Apparently

I was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer (Gleason 6, stage T1C and a
PSA of 13).
I am trying to decide whether to go with surgery or radiation. I have been
told that it will take up to 6 months to recover from surgery, and that

RP and rising BP?22 Jun 2005 00:44 GMT15
Makes no sense to me and my surgeon, but my BP has been consistently high
since my surgery. It ran about 120/70 or less for decades, right up through
last fall, but has consistently been 140-150/80-90 since winter.
Stress? (That ended with my ADT decision, as far as I can tell, ...

Happy addendum to Any suggestions21 Jun 2005 12:10 GMT4
I don't know how to post this vis-a-vis the original thread--hope it doesn't
cause confusion.  But anyway, after urinating every ten minutes (literally)
for so many hours and hours, I went to bed, just to lie down, fell asleep,
and slept for several hours!  Woke up and since then ...
PSA result21 Jun 2005 03:50 GMT4
I am now one year out from my prostate operation last May - the results have
been 0 for the first 12 months and now the latest is up to 0.01. Is there
anything I should be doing other than regular 3 monthly check ups? Apart
from that I am feeling good, loads of energy and was ...

All things considered my radical went well and the pathologist believes
the critters did not escape, but only time will tell. I have been
fortunate than incontinence has been no problem, most likely its due to
some unrelated urological structure issues, but I am thankful.
Caution: Explicit discussion - Incontinence.20 Jun 2005 12:26 GMT13
I really hesitate to make this post.  I do not want to offend anyone,
but I think the subject matter is, unfortunately, relevant to some of us.
Not sure this is any worse than some of the other things discussed here.
Hope not.  Here goes.

Any suggestions20 Jun 2005 00:14 GMT6
Well, I was planning to post an "update" today (about finishing RT and
having survived it) but something really excessive has happened:  I am
experiencing aftershocks!  During the radiation I developed urinary
frequency, urgency, (and burning), but with Flomax and Phenazo it was
