Frequent nighttime urination (nocturia) 03 Mar 2005 15:05 GMT7
The topic comes up often, but I haven't seen this side of it mentioned yet:
it's natural by middle age. As we age, our bodies tend to change our urine
production schedule from daytime to nighttime. Our aging bladders are also
less elastic, so perceive pressure earlier. We also ...

A snipet of news to toss by your urologist.
A small study by Frank Sommer, Professor of Urology at the University
of Cologne, Germany presented at the American Urological Association
meeting, shows normal erectile function restored in >50% of subjects

Live in pain...02 Mar 2005 20:17 GMT2
Live in pain, live in fear,
What do I do if the end is near?
Well that is the question we all ask. There are many lurkers no doubt. They
lurk, some of them, because they suspect cancer yet don't go to the doctor
Which Medical Specialty is Best for Post-op PCa?02 Mar 2005 15:58 GMT2
My prostatectomy was by a urologist, nine years ago, in Los Angeles.
Subsequent care was by an oncologist/hemotologist. Now, I'm in New
England, with a high PSA, and looking for doctor. Should I look for a
urologist, oncologist or some other specialist? Any recommendations?

injections to get it up02 Mar 2005 11:54 GMT5
I just went today for my first injection (and instruction on how to do
it myself) for ED. My ED doc is Mullhall at Sloan Kettering -- he does
not use Caverjet due to its many potential problems (pain, etc.); he
uses his own concoction that contains a lower dose of what's in
at the crossroads01 Mar 2005 21:11 GMT20
Hi again all,
Yesterday my primary care physician (G.P.) told me I was overdoing it,
trying to get in 3 days work a week whilst on ADT. My Rad starts in 3
wks and I've blocked out a time slot for that to exclude work for the
erection scale - a little graphic humor01 Mar 2005 20:37 GMT6
I thought there might be a need for a quantitative erection scale that
could replace the time-worn phrases of "almost stuffable" and the like.
Also, maybe the newly arrived members of this club who are concerned
about post-treatment ED might benefit from seeing that some humor
I give up (incontinence) . . .01 Mar 2005 18:38 GMT4
Visited the incontinence uro today at Northwestern Hospital . . . he
said the sphincter must have been damaged during surgery (7-21-03). I
am peeved because we're now talking about medical malpractice, done by
another uro surgeon at NH, which is supposed to be a "top uro center".
Kegel exercises01 Mar 2005 18:37 GMT9
Since I am having surgery in about a month, my uro suggested I begin doing
Kegel's every day beforehand.  I've been trying to interrupt my urine flow
each time I go just to get used to which muscle I need to use.  My question
is can doing Kegels cause a prostatitis-like feeling of ...
erections01 Mar 2005 13:05 GMT2
I had prostate surgery five years ago and it left me with a shortened penis,
which is normal per my urologist.  However erections have been a problem.  I
would like to know more about the blood circulating in and out of the penis.
I was told that some vessels supplying blood to the ...
