IGF - Insulin-like growth factor31 Dec 2004 03:08 GMT6
Has this "indicator" been discussed here before. I have a medical book
from 1999 that states that a rise in IGF could indicate a rise in PCa.
Searching through the archives, I don't see it mentioned here too much.
Has it been proven not useful?
Biopsy Today30 Dec 2004 21:53 GMT4
I had my biopsy today.  It was elective.  I was given a choice to wait 30
days to see if my PSA comes down or a biopsy.  I elected the biopsy so as to
get it out of the way.
It was almost painless and I thank those here that told me what to expect.

An Heretofore Unrecognized Advantage with RP  :-)29 Dec 2004 07:06 GMT6
Because of the "Testosterone after surgery" thread, I came across an
article by Dr. Walsh, et. al., entitled "Influence of Radical
Prostatectomy on Serum Hormone Levels" (J. Urol., 160, pp. 449-453,
1998).  The paper tracks the hormone levels in 63 men Walsh operated on

Good lab report29 Dec 2004 01:33 GMT3
As those who have waded through my complaints about the botched
cryosurgery of 11/03 and the numerous diagnostic tests that my former
urologist failed to order may recall, I recently went through a course
of IMRT and am presently on ADT.

My father-in-law, Victor A. Lahmann (1924-2004) finally lost his battle to
Alzheimer's.  He was diagnosed 11 years ago and went into a nursing home 4?
