Positive Biopsy - 2nd Time30 Aug 2004 20:33 GMT19
Last March I posted that I had a 16 needle biopsy conducted at the Wake
Forest Baptist Hospital due to an elevated PSA of 4.02 (up from 3.3 a year
earlier) with a free PSA of only 9 percent.  That biopsy found no cancer in
any of the core samples.  Between then and the 18th of Aug ...

Here's Dad's history in brief form

receive a month dose and then go one month on, one month off and be
monitored.
One year and 27 days :-)29 Aug 2004 05:48 GMT3
I have seen several negative posts relative to the use of Muse and
thought I should post the positive side. Finally after 1 year and 27
days there is success on the ED front. After too long in the "close
but nothing useful" stage, my wife and I had a great evening! As

The Emcyt with my first Taxotere a month ago caused violent diarrhea. We
overcorrected this with imodium  doctor's directed dosage -  and my gut
stopped working. When it began again, with explosive diarrhea, I began a
constant low-grade rectal leakage of clear fluid - and never ...

My second quarterly PSA results are 0.01 down from 0.03.
Asked my Urologist if the tests were really that accurate. He said

Now if I could quit leaking : )

LRP done Tuesday 27 Aug 2004 19:15 GMT7
Just got hope from City of Hope.  LRP was Tuesday noon.  a shade over 3 hrs.
Doc said it went great.  He was very enthusiastic in fact.  The most pain
has been from sitting on my butt.  I'll have the path report on Monday
evening but here's hoping for the best.  One good sign was a ...
Great News on my Surgery27 Aug 2004 16:39 GMT5
Everything is great!!! My catheter came out today (8 days after
surgery)and I am much more comfortable. The biopsy came back on the
removed prostate and indicated that as far as they could tell, the
cancer was confined to the prostate and had not spread.

Anything else like Saw palmetto that messes up PSA readings?27 Aug 2004 09:04 GMT3
My friend had a discouraging biopsy and is seeing specialists and taking
food supplements including lycopene, selenium, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
His question is whether there are any supplements that he should avoid
because they, like saw palmetto, might artificially lower his PSA ...

Merle Bloom...the next installment26 Aug 2004 21:46 GMT6
In answer to Alex's question:  We've been through several social workers
from several different agencies. At this point, I think they've told us
everything they're going to tell us, because they just keep sending us to
each other in an endless round.
