Why do urologists believe that T is bad for CaP?18 Jun 2004 19:30 GMT7
I have been fascinated by the treatments for prostate cancer (CaP)
reported by Dr. Robert Liebowitz.  By targeting dihydrotestosterone
(DHT) instead of (T), he now has published the only study done with
early stage (T1-T3) CaP which has a realistic chance of producing a 100%
JAMA article regarding watchful waiting18 Jun 2004 18:53 GMT6
Gentlemen and Ladies,
An interesting study was published in the June 9 Journal of the
American Medical Association (JAMA) from a group out of Sweden which
studied the "natural history" of early, localized prostate cancer.
Casodex cost18 Jun 2004 16:04 GMT5
Does anyone have a good Canadian or Mexican pharmacy providing Casodex
at a price which does not require a home equity loan?

Biochemical relapse after RP18 Jun 2004 14:53 GMT3
There seems to exist a "consensus" (sort of) regarding the following:
- biochemical relapse after RP if you reach 0.2 PSA
- salvage radiation desirably under 1.0
I have a doubt though:
Just got the "word"18 Jun 2004 02:12 GMT10
I am 73 and have had an enlarged prostate for at
least 10 years, but my PSA was always less than
1.0.  This year, my PSA is "off the scale" at 25.
I have two cancer sites with a total score of

just diagnosed17 Jun 2004 13:55 GMT7
I just went to the Dr for a physical and they found my PSA high at 9.  The
GP ordered a urologist visit & he ordered a biopsy.  So they found cancer in
4 or 12 samples.  3+3 whatever that means.  and he recommends surgery.  So
here's my question:  He recommends surgery but then he's ...

Getting Anxious - Long16 Jun 2004 23:32 GMT16
I've got to admit that I'm getting very anxious about my upcoming surgery -
next Thursday.  I've gotten over the idea that I have prostate cancer and
that something has to be done about it.  I also feel fairly confident that I
have chosen the best course of action for me (RRP).  I ...
Question I Forgot to Ask16 Jun 2004 22:42 GMT7
I recently interviewed a laparoscipic surgeon, trying to decide on which
treatment I'd eventually choose.  I'd done a lot of homework; read books,
searched the web, and talked to others about their choices.  Then, I wrote up
an interview sheet, with all the questions I thought ...
Radiation and hair loss16 Jun 2004 07:31 GMT8
Hubby compleated 42 IMRT treatments about 6 weeks ago.  Suddenly he has
lost nearly all of his abdominal and pubic hair.  Is this normal?
Nothing I have heard mentioned this.  I would assume it's a side effect
that everyone gets, but am curious.  At least he has a sense of humor
Thanks to the group16 Jun 2004 04:06 GMT7
I am having RPP tomorrow, 6/16. I had my biopsy April 28th, and I
think found this group the same night. I was feeling pretty put upon
that evening, as I was sure that with a PSA of 3.3 and age of 49 a
biopsy was pretty agressive and unnecesary. I got the news May 3 or
plans change15 Jun 2004 13:46 GMT13
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem.  I had an initial psa
done in January of this year. It was 28.
I then had a free psa about a week later and it was the same. I then had
a biopsy where one of 12 cores was positive with a gleason score of 6 (3+3)
Sore Testicles15 Jun 2004 06:15 GMT4
I'm 3 weeks post op. I had an LRP and I'm having some dribbles thru the
day. I have tried a variety of pads, all of which seem to work.
My question is this, has anyone experienced sore testicles? I seem to
think its due to stuffing pads in underwear and using tighter than normal
2 Graduates this weekend.15 Jun 2004 03:24 GMT5
I was confrimed prostate cancer in 1999.  My son was applying to Stanford
University at the time.  He graduated from High School here in a rural town
with high honors and was accepted to Stanford.
Anyway, my trials and tribulations with Prostate Cancer led me to Stanford
