Lupron Lurker24 May 2004 01:59 GMT4
The first week in June, I get my third Lupron shot. The first was a 30
day jab in December, the second a 4mos injection, as will the one in a
couple of weeks.  When I had the first (December) shot I was at almost
30 PSA.  29 and change.  At PSA for the February jab it had plummeted
IMRT and anemia23 May 2004 22:34 GMT4
There was a thread about a week ago about IMRT causing anemia.  Did
anyone get the results back from their blood work yet?
The reason I'm asking, hubby completed 42 treatments 2 weeks ago.
Somewhere around the 28th treatment, his hemoglobin count dropped to
Cyberknife Radiation23 May 2004 03:14 GMT2
I was treated with the Cyberknife; finished radiation 4 weeks ago
at Stanford on a Phase II Trial. I received 5 radiation treatments
in one week; the bioequivalent of 37 days 74 Gy EBRT; actual was
36 Gy. Side effects are some of the same ones as from EBRT

To those looking for resources for PCa on the Web, these are some good ones.
This list is posted from time to time on a nother Yahoo list I belong to.
I'm sure others her probably read the same lists, but there may be some who
do not and who are not aware of some of these resources. ...

What to expect after treatment?22 May 2004 19:25 GMT7
I've been lurking on this group for a few days. You all seem like
nice, as well as knowledgeable folks. I wish I had found you sooner.
Considering the options for prostate cancer treatment for my dad with
scant assistance from the doctors has not been easy.
Had a PSA today.......22 May 2004 12:08 GMT8
Although my Doc recommended a PSA at 90 days post-op (had Robotic LRP
3/26/04), I was driving myself crazy thinking about it ....plus am
considering having a second opinion of the post-op path report.
As the PSA test is now taken at approx. 7.5 weeks, how much inprovement
EBRT's Completed Today!22 May 2004 12:03 GMT8
Well, I completed the 25th of 25 EBRT's today. Few side affects to report. A
very little discomfort peeing and I get up a few times during the night but
nothing I can't live with. Flomax helps. Also, Tylenol PM - per Dr.
suggestion to help sleep longer between get-ups.
Zoladex vs |Lupron22 May 2004 06:20 GMT10
I have been on Zoladex ( an injection every three months) for over a
year.  It has kept my PSA at <0.1.  Nobody on this NG ever mentions
taking Zoladex.  Everyone seems to be taking Lupron.  I know Zoladex
puts the cancer cells to "sleep" so to speak.  What does Lupron do and
Finding a good surgeon, San Antonio, TX21 May 2004 22:25 GMT10
Just been diagnosed: 1 core out of 13 had 1% positive. (Had 2 rounds of
biopsies last year--13 cores, no hits but 2 high PIN hits) Gleason 6, latest
psa 4.7, age 58. I'm seriously considering RP. My urologist is a surgeon &
does about 20 RPs a year. I don't know how to find out if ...
Normal PSA levels21 May 2004 21:04 GMT3
Here's a better answer to your question:
"PSA and Age
"PSA is also age dependent, as we get older the PSA tends to increase and
therefore the normal range varies with age. The following is a guideline

Lupron question??21 May 2004 12:06 GMT14
Ok guys. My FIL is on Lupron. Gosh, does he need happy pills big time!!!
Would you say this is a normal side effect of Lupron? Or is he just a normal
cranky old man getting worse in his old age? He's 82, he's had a stoke, his
BP problems are hopefully under control, he's blind in ...
How long is too long to wait?21 May 2004 03:30 GMT7
My dad just got biopsy results last week.  The doctor won't see him again
until next month.  They don't know how advanced it is.  Is that too long to
wait... or is that pretty normal.  For some reason, I thought with cancers
the doctors always want to get you in right away.  This is ...
