| Learn something new every day-IMRT | 31 May 2004 20:08 GMT | 22 |
Had a lengthy chat with my 2 Rad Oncs. I have 15 more IMRT's to go to finish up and as I have said in previous posts I've been having alot of urinary and prostate swelling probs. I assumed that once I finished the IMRT that I could get my URO to repair the plumbing.

| incision bulge | 31 May 2004 05:18 GMT | 5 |
This was a classic case of calling the surgeon, getting a nurse, the nurse translated what I said to the doc, and the doc told her it was nothing to worry about. I knew it was *not* nothing to worry about. The bulge/lump was not getting smaller and was red and started to feel

I have been taking a combination of Glucosomine/Chondroitin for a long time called TripleFlex. Upon reading concerns about this subject on the NG about Dr. Charles Myers stating chondroitin may cause the PCa to mestasize, I decided to email the author of "The Arthritis Cure", the

| Lupron | 30 May 2004 21:28 GMT | 11 |
I was diagnosed with PC and am opting for radiation. Before starting radiation the urologist is putting me on Lupron. I was given a 3 month injection into the stomach wall. All people I talked to received it in a muscle. I questioned him about it and he said that it depends who ...

| incision bulge | 30 May 2004 02:32 GMT | 10 |
First post. I am 2 weeks post RRP -- All is going rather well (Thank God!) except for a large bulge near the bottom of my incision -- did not appear until a couple of days ago and, maybe, it's getting bigger: more than an inch across and bulging out about 1/2 inch from the

| Report on new PSA study | 29 May 2004 20:03 GMT | 7 |
I just read Gina Kolata's article in the N Y Times on a new study which shows that up to 15 percent of older men with PSA less than 4 ng/ml show the existence of prostate cancer on biopsy. Kolata has been grinding an ax on the subject of whether early testing for cancer is ...

| Cancer | 29 May 2004 19:45 GMT | 8 |
WEll, I've got prostate cancer and I'm hating it of course! I'm reading about LRP and wondering if anyone has had this treqatmenat? It sounds "good" compared to conventional surgery. Any thoughts? I just found out last friday. I'm 49 and I had a biopsy. One of 12 showed cancer. My ...

| still leaky | 29 May 2004 19:36 GMT | 6 |
I'm 11 weeks post-op and still having similar problems to a lot of posters. I'm not sure about the wisdom of using a clamp, I don't think it's for me but I sure as hell would like to not have to worry about "accidents". I'm using 2-3 pads a day and one overnight. I'm seeing a

PSA tests better than no tests The important thing for mature men to remember, in light of findings that show the PSA blood test for prostate cancer in some cases does not detect the cancer - or its severity, is that PSA tests are far
