Has anyone attempted to remove the catheter themselves? I asked my surgeon and he indicated that there is no reason one could not do it themselves, in fact he has had patients who have done it with no problems. Cut off the pigtail, let the saline solution drain out,

My father has just received results saying he has prostate cancer. I think it was either 6 or 8 samples were taken and 2 wound found to be cancer. One was 3mm the other 1mm. The psa is 10 and a Gleason of 6. The specialist belives all the cancer is probably in the prostate only. ...

going to have surgery on feb 11th, to remove the scar tissue at the bladder neck. the bladder neck keeps closing from scar tissue being there. i thought this is same day surgery, but my doctor told me "that i will be in the hospital for two to three days. what a disappointment.

My father in law had an elevated PSA reading of 18 at his last regular test about 6 weeks ago. two years ago it was 4 and one year ago it was 5 (but alas no advice to get further check up). He has had xrays and nuclear medicine scans to check for metastasis

Can anyone who has taken Lupron and then stopped taking it tell how long the effects lasted after the last injection. I had 7.5 mg in October, and 22.5 mg around November 22. The theoretical 3 month dose will be over in 3 more weeks.

Brand new here. I'm 52. Just went through a cystoscopy and prostate biopsy. Gotta wait till February 17 for the results. According to the physician's assistant who gave me my physical in November of 2003, my PSA went from 1.9 in 2002 to 5.1 in 2003.
