Third postop PSA is undetectable19 Feb 2004 02:52 GMT2
My third postop PSA came back once again "undetectable."  Usually I
get the phone call on Tuesday but because of President's Day I got the
call from my doc today.  Waiting that extra day wasn't easy.

Thanks to all19 Feb 2004 00:03 GMT6
I just want to say Thanks to everyone who has responded to my letter New Member
so far.  It has been a great help.  I did go out get Dr. Walsh's book.
It's rough enough to deal with the PC but now you need to make sure you have
the right doctor.  My uro that did the biopsy was ...

Thanks!17 Feb 2004 23:11 GMT1
Thanks to all who responded to my Feb. 15 query about high dose rate
brachytherapy.  I got more useful information from you folks than I've
gleaned from 2-3 weeks of intensive research.  I especially appreciate
the strong recommendation to get a second reading on the biopsy
Importance of Walking17 Feb 2004 17:19 GMT7
All,
I am wondering how much should I be walking? How often? And what are the
benefits as far as PCa? I am on my feet alot (in the woodshop) but I
have yet to put much mileage on...it is C O L D here in Idaho!
Decision Time.17 Feb 2004 03:10 GMT21
I'm new to this site and also new to the realization that I have early stage
PC.
I have been given four alternatives for treatment, Surgery,Beam Radiation,
Seed Implants or Watchfull Waiting. I feel that I am disposed toward the

I ran across this article and thought it might be of interest.

Radiation Side Effects16 Feb 2004 09:13 GMT4
I've been receiving radiation treatments for 2 weeks now and have
encountered some side effects already. Urination has been difficult and
painful from about the second treatment. I had a urinalysis done last
week and doctor found an abnormal amount of white cells in urine. He
Iodine 125 -- 3 weeks later -- painful side-effects16 Feb 2004 03:42 GMT10
On Jan 22, I had Iodine 125 seed implant.  I was PSA 6.2, with Gleason
3+3 and a T1c rating...cancer confined to right side of prostate. Am 64
and (was) in good health.  I'm surprised and dismayed at the intensity
of the side-effects:
High Dose Rate Brachytherapy16 Feb 2004 03:24 GMT7
I just learned two weeks ago that I have become a member of this
not-so-elite group, and I am faced with "the big decision"--what to
do.  I have pretty much narrowed my options to two:  RP or a clinical
trial being conducted by the Medical College of Virginia on high dose
latest PSA16 Feb 2004 03:13 GMT9
Johns latest PSA shows a yet another rise from 18 to 25 in 4 weeks.
His PSA started to rise last December and casodex was added in
addition to the zolodex he already  receives. It was hoped that the
casodex would  help to lower the PSA or at least to stablelize it,
Optimism14 Feb 2004 17:48 GMT8
Speaking of news articles, here's one.   The URL is too long and
cumbersome, but you can google for:  "Optimism Doesn't Prolong Lung

Statistics in perspective13 Feb 2004 21:52 GMT1
Excellent article about statistics from a Steven J. Gould who had cancer
(not PCa). He explains how it's possible that the statistics said the
median length of survival was 8 months, but he actually lived 20 years.
