| Third postop PSA is undetectable | 19 Feb 2004 02:52 GMT | 2 |
My third postop PSA came back once again "undetectable." Usually I get the phone call on Tuesday but because of President's Day I got the call from my doc today. Waiting that extra day wasn't easy. Chuck H.

I just want to say Thanks to everyone who has responded to my letter New Member so far. It has been a great help. I did go out get Dr. Walsh's book. It's rough enough to deal with the PC but now you need to make sure you have the right doctor. My uro that did the biopsy was ...

Thanks to all who responded to my Feb. 15 query about high dose rate brachytherapy. I got more useful information from you folks than I've gleaned from 2-3 weeks of intensive research. I especially appreciate the strong recommendation to get a second reading on the biopsy

| Iodine 125 -- 3 weeks later -- painful side-effects | 16 Feb 2004 03:42 GMT | 10 |
On Jan 22, I had Iodine 125 seed implant. I was PSA 6.2, with Gleason 3+3 and a T1c rating...cancer confined to right side of prostate. Am 64 and (was) in good health. I'm surprised and dismayed at the intensity of the side-effects:

I just learned two weeks ago that I have become a member of this not-so-elite group, and I am faced with "the big decision"--what to do. I have pretty much narrowed my options to two: RP or a clinical trial being conducted by the Medical College of Virginia on high dose

| latest PSA | 16 Feb 2004 03:13 GMT | 9 |
Johns latest PSA shows a yet another rise from 18 to 25 in 4 weeks. His PSA started to rise last December and casodex was added in addition to the zolodex he already receives. It was hoped that the casodex would help to lower the PSA or at least to stablelize it,

Excellent article about statistics from a Steven J. Gould who had cancer (not PCa). He explains how it's possible that the statistics said the median length of survival was 8 months, but he actually lived 20 years. http://www.edwardtufte.com/tufte/gould
