Houston New Guy23 Feb 2004 02:15 GMT14
Yet another new guy here. I've been healthy all my life so this is quite a
change. I was diagnosed about 3 weeks with prostate cancer (Age 56, Gleason
6, T1 to T2). I'll be going to another doctor in a couple of weeks for a
second opinion.
Frustration with Doctors Office (mini rant)22 Feb 2004 22:47 GMT25
Curt had bloods drawn on Monday and they ran 2 samples for his wbc, hgb, etc.
because they didn't like the way the first one came out. low hgb and low
hematocrit. then we don't find out until today that they didn't have enough
for a PSA. They said they thought they did and didn't ...
One pad a day.22 Feb 2004 14:25 GMT7
Looks like things are really getting better.  The last few days I have
gotten by on one pad a day (24 hour period).  I have never leaked at night,
lying down I mean, so if this keeps up next week I am going padless at
night.  Cannot get away with doing that during the day for ...

From the Portland Oregonian of 02/17/04:
The American Cancer Society  estimates that there will be 230,110

father in law - gleason 10- update21 Feb 2004 05:13 GMT7
Our news keeps getting worse. You may recall that we had a PSA of 18
followed by a biopsy giving a Gleason of 10. We forced our way to get
an immediate appointment with a radiation oncologist. he suggested
lupron followed by external beam radiation therapy.
An Observation20 Feb 2004 19:59 GMT18
I can't help being a little curious about something I've noticed since
my diagnosis.  Although virtually ALL cancer prevention sites stress
the importance of a low-fat diet and exercise, it seems that AT LEAST
80% of the prostate cancer victims/survivors I've encountered since
Greater risk?? 20 Feb 2004 18:02 GMT12
Does anyone know if there are reliable studies to indicate that there is
greater risk of *other* cancers once one has been diagnosed with PCa??  Does
this put us at greater risk for colon cancer, lung cancer, etc??    Just
wondering what other things I need to add to my list of ...
Build up your immune system for health20 Feb 2004 12:24 GMT3
Important fact:
We live in a disease-oriented society that scrambles to try to treat disease after the fact. Prevention is by far the better way to go and involves the consumption of certain foods and supplements on a daily basis to fortify and protect the body against a whole ...
New Member20 Feb 2004 08:17 GMT29
I'm 49 was told I have PC about 2 weeks ago.  My PSA was only 2.8 and my

Death will be a friend20 Feb 2004 08:07 GMT9
Just this afternoon I called at our local nursing home to visit a friend
who is terminally ill.  If he lives a few more days he will be 92 on
February 21.
I have known him since 1950 when he hired me to work with him at our
Brachytherapy and update20 Feb 2004 00:20 GMT6
