Greetings!, My wife Lorna is going through a 12 month chemotherapy treatment after two brain surgeries were unsuccessfully at removing a brain tumor. As you can imagine, our medical bills were and still are insurmountable. We found a very helpful site that gave us links to grants we ...

| Q. for those who have had RP surgery...... | 02 Jan 2004 19:50 GMT | 12 |
My surgery is next week, and I should have thought to ask my surgeon this question when I last met with him, but since I didn't - When do they put the catheter "IN"? Before, or after the anesthetic takes effect?

| Also New to the Group | 01 Jan 2004 15:04 GMT | 22 |
I have been looking over the postings in this group for the past hour or so. I have also read Walsh's book (given to me to read by my urologist). I had a PSA of 5.3 and after taking Cipro for a month the repeat PSA was again 5.2. I have been getting annual DRE's and this is the ...

| Berky | 01 Jan 2004 14:52 GMT | 9 |
I talked with Berky (and his wife) last night. He's doing well. He has good days and bad days but no real pain. Sometimes he uses a cane and sometimes he uses a walker. He tires easily. He has plenty of meds to keep him comfortable. Sometimes he remembers and sometimes he forgets. ...

| Watchful waiting | 01 Jan 2004 14:42 GMT | 24 |
I wonder if any one out there is on watchful waiting. I am 74, PSA of 5.1 from 3.9 a year ago and a gleason of 3=3. One sample out of 12 was 2% cancer. I was given a choice of WW or seeds after hormone treatment. I was told by several urologists that WW is a reasonable option if ...

So I'm in the hospital waiting room this week, for my little wifes hysterectomy to get done. Who comes walking by, but my PCa surgeon from last year. We exchange pleasantries, and he asks me why I'm there? I tell him the aliens will be quite puzzled after today. When my wife and ...

| Happy New Year! | 01 Jan 2004 06:40 GMT | 2 |
Well guys looks like we made it to another year. Isn't that what this is all about? Trying to maintain a decent quality of life, while attempting to outrun PCa, and die of a heart attack or get hit by a truck instead? Here's hoping that you never get into our club...... or if ...

| PCa Diagostic Trend? | 01 Jan 2004 01:34 GMT | 9 |
Out of curiosity, I have been trying to keep track of the PSA, Gleason Scores, and ages as reported by the members when they join. I sorted them by the treatment dates and came up with some very interesting information. The methodology is far from industry standards. Therefore, I ...
