Symptoms After the Prostate Biopsy14 Jan 2006 03:50 GMT14
I had a prostate biopsy 21 days ago and was diagnosed with Chronic
Prostatitis.  No cancer.  I'm 50.  First had PSA of 5.26 which, after
antibiotics, went down to 4.6.  Doctor said he wanted to do biopsy to
rule out cancer.  The ultrasound biopsy showed that my prostate

Has anyone heard of or used this device. It is a small heater probe that is
put in the rectum to heat the prostate for relief of BPH.
It is supposedly pending FDA approval.

another one of your posts in the web which corrected the spelling :-) .  I

Scar tissue (stricture from laser surgery )Anyone have this ?13 Jan 2006 02:45 GMT6
Hi, I'm emailing for my husband right now . He's had two laser
surgeries , the last one was two years ago .Neither of the surgeries
ever helped him at all , but my question is , have any of you ended up
with severe scar tissue from the surgeries ? My husband has a very
cystoscopy produces damage?13 Jan 2006 01:51 GMT1
Simple urodynamics almost closed me down. 1) the tubing hit a
constriction in the urethra, causing inflammation for a few days; 2)
liquid forced into bladder stretched it, causing lessening of desire to
urinate for a few days. Now I face cystoscopy and wonder whether this
beta-sitosterol is helpful, not hurtful for pca12 Jan 2006 04:49 GMT7
My reference studies indicate beta-sitosterol is adjunctive for the
remission of prostate cancer, not
accentuating. Actually, the ginsengs, as well, are helpful for all cancer.

Update on beta sitosterol and saw palmetto11 Jan 2006 01:20 GMT4
Here is a copy of the e-mail I wrote to Karen about the contradiction I
mentioned earlier (in one of her web pages).  Damn it I still haven't soaked
yet, and now my butt is really killing me.  I wonder if she will write me
back.  Enjoy...Pete

Biopsy w/PVP10 Jan 2006 20:16 GMT2
One drawback mentioned with PVP is the lack of tissue to biopsy.  I've had
two urologists tell me that's not an issue because after the PVP they take
some extra tissue to biopsy.  Is this just as good as a "normal" biopsy?
The patient's current PSA is 2.8, if that makes a difference ...
Would it be possible to resolve acute urinary retention by stimulating the prostate?10 Jan 2006 03:09 GMT30
Like some other people with enlarged prostates, I go into retention
when my bladder is too full. A catheter relieves the condition, but is
invasive and poses the risk of bladder infection. It would be great if
there was a simpler way.

PVP or HOLAP and TURP in same procedure08 Jan 2006 23:13 GMT3
I am 50 and have been living with somewhat severe BPH symptoms for the past
3 - 5 years.  I see an urologist every six months and have been treating
the condition primarily with flomax.  Each visit to the uro I have a flow
test and an ultrasound.  My prostate is about 45 cc ...
