Problem 1 Year After Laser31 Jan 2006 23:06 GMT3
A little over a year ago, I had a pvp. Until now things were fine.  Now
the flow has decreased to where it was before pvp with dribbles etc.
Strangely enough, bowels seem to cause increased flow.  I made an
appointment with a uro, although he is so busy it will be a couple
PVP and large prostates22 Jan 2006 23:24 GMT16
It's been a while since I've visited this NG, so I apologize if this
question is redundant.
I am now having some retention issues that are causing my Uro to suggest an
open prostatectomy. He has done a few PVPs but says that there's too much

FLOMAX21 Jan 2006 16:56 GMT9
I would like to hear experiences both good and bad about Flomax.
Saw Palmetto does not seem to help, Flomax was suggested.  Thanks.
Prostate massage21 Jan 2006 16:12 GMT13
I have heard recently that the incidence of prostate cancer in active
gay men is much lower than in heterosexual or abstinent men, and the
reason is that they are routinely having their prostate glands
massaged. I wonder if there is any truth to this. I went online to
Post PVP Procedure20 Jan 2006 20:30 GMT6
When my prostate reached 37cc. and I could not live with BPH symptoms any
longer, I discussed it with my urologist and decided to go with the PVP
procedure. On 1/12/2006,  I had an outpatient PVP (Green Light) procedure.
They had to put a catheter on me before sending me home. The ...

Diabetic reporting 4 wk update on second PVP16 Jan 2006 15:00 GMT11
Well, I had my second PVP in less than 10 mos. a few weeks ago. I thought my
second one was an immediate success because my flow on day two was the
strongest it had been since I was a teenager. Unsimilar to my first PVP, I
saw no blood at all until the third week and now I have bled ...
Avodart vs. PVP16 Jan 2006 00:44 GMT8
I am 57, Type 2 Diabetic, on Hytrin for about 4 years for BPH, now on
Avodart for 3 months.  My Doc tells me the Avodart is supposed to
shrink my prostate within 6 months, by which time I might be able to
get off the Hytrin (which makes me lethargic and fuzzy-headed).  The

I periodically send messages via this newsgroup when they should go
through my personal mail.  I did it again.  My apology.
loss of drive and erections after using Proscar. Question about Trimix15 Jan 2006 19:55 GMT8
Is anyone using Proscar and have you had a lost of sex drive and a loss of
erection? My doc has me on Proscar and Atenelol (for blood pressure) and it
has ruined my sex life. Reading the side effects of Proscar seem to fit me

I am a 49 year old with pretty severe BPH symptoms and have been
managing these over the past four years with flomax.  But lately the
urgency has gotton pretty severe and flow is very difficult especially
at night.  I have been seeing a urologist the entire five years and
Removal of prostate15 Jan 2006 07:58 GMT14
I have been reading here for a few months now and naturally I have an
interest in that I have BPH and am on Flomax which can be a nuisance
as I am also on water tablets too. It has occurred to me that it maybe
