Ibuprofen Very Helpful -- For Me30 Dec 2005 14:25 GMT30
I'm 65 and have had BPH for 10 years. For most of that time I've taken
Saw Palmetto, and for the last couple of years I added Beta Sitosterol
(Natrol Cholesterol Balance). They both seemed to help, and I honestly
believe my symptoms may have subsided a bit since I started the Beta
PVP on 13 Oct at Navy Bethesda29 Dec 2005 20:01 GMT19
Home now with catheter for about 4 or 5 days.  I had a lot of blood (surgeon
thinks mostly from bladder).  I stayed an extra day to irrigate the bladder,
but was unable to get enough blood out to come home without a catheter.
I'll know more after my Tuesday appointment with the ...
Decongestants and BPH28 Dec 2005 23:30 GMT12
I have a worsening post nasal drip condition - may be allegeries. I
have tried Nasacort because it does not have any warnings about
enlargesd protate (which I have). It really is not effective.
Is anyone aware of ANY nasal decongestant that does not
Tale of Two BPH Sufferers...27 Dec 2005 10:47 GMT8
By the way, I am 62 yrs old, had TUMT 7/2/04 followed by a PVP 2/23/05.
Good results except for possible bladder neck involvement which may
require further incision at a later date.  Do have retro from PVP from
the single incision of the bladder neck that was done with the ...

grms who have had PVPs.
Bye, Best Wishes...22 Dec 2005 18:24 GMT4
I'm hanging up my BPH newsgroup for the time being, largely because we've
been covering the same issues over and over again.  Plan to spend my time
learning some programming code on my own, messing with assembling computers,
and so on.   Oh, I won't be that far away.   I'll come ...
Cinnamon, Beta Sitosterol, Proscar, Prostatitis, BPH21 Dec 2005 01:29 GMT8
Hi guys...I have pasted a post below from the prostatitis newsgroup (which
is almost extinct like I have told you), along with my response.  I thought
some of you might be interested, and I did try to relate it to BPH as well
as prostatitis.  I'm sure Spread will read it.  It ...
A Warning Re: Ibuprofen19 Dec 2005 21:14 GMT4
I recently started a thread in which I reported that Ibuprofen had
been very helpful in getting me through the night without multiple
trips to the bathroom. Unfortunately, I discovered this morning that
the FDA issued a warning last April against long term use of Ibuprofen
8 mos. post PVP and still having problems19 Dec 2005 15:52 GMT29
I had my PVP on 2/28/05. From day one after the surgery, I had problems with
urine retention and the flow. It has now been 8 mos. and no change. It is as
if I never had the procedure done. If I go one day without Flomax it is as if
you shut the water faucet off. Anyone else had ...
Avodart vs Flomax16 Dec 2005 00:13 GMT15
Does anyone have experience with Avodart and Flomax?  Flomax gave me a
constant backache, I never tried Avodart.

PSA after PVP12 Dec 2005 11:05 GMT5
In recent years with a 70+ gram prostate my PSA varied between 7.5 and 9.0.
On my first PSA since my PVP in July it now 5.1. Is this what one should
expect? I had expected the lack of prostate tissue to give lower reading.
Derek.
Ovberactive Bladder VS  BPH12 Dec 2005 08:28 GMT13
How does one differentiate between BPH and an overactive bladder?
Grms/ccs conversion11 Dec 2005 17:50 GMT12
Sorry if this is a repeat, but my prostate is 60 cc ~ what does that convert
to in grms.  I did a search and couldn't anything.  It seems to me to ccs
are referring to size and grms are referring to weight.  Is this a
conversion of the weight of ccs of water?  Thanks for any ...
Alcohol Injections11 Dec 2005 09:48 GMT4
What do you know about using ethanol injections for BPH? Local TV had a
story about shrinking prostate enough to decrease night time trips to
the bathroom.
