uh...oh... flomax no longer working-- advice please07 Feb 2005 08:35 GMT9
Well, it looks like things are going south for me.
I've had BPH for many many years and I've been on flomax for about 4-5
years.
Lately, my stream is getting less and less despite now taking 2 per day.
Flomax - why take it?07 Feb 2005 03:56 GMT6
First off, I understand some are worse than me but I have been characterised
as severe for many years. I don't take anything for the problem most of the
time, with the exception of an exceptionally strong dose of Saw Palmetto.
Anyway, some times I need pain relief and a twice a ...
23 Months Post-Pvp06 Feb 2005 03:48 GMT5
I had the PVP procedure done 23 months ago in Los Angeles by Dr.
Bogaard with good results during that short period. Now, I am beginning
to experience some urinary retention with my bladder no longer emptying
-- and I am getting up 3 to 4 times at night to pee as I was doing
Another PVP Scheduled04 Feb 2005 15:09 GMT1
Had Prostatron 2.5 7/2/05.  AUA Score reduced from 21 to 10.  Still
having problems with incomplete emptying, getting up 2-3 x night.  Went
back to URO today, 5.2 ml/sec flow test and cystoscopy showed nearly
blocked distal part of urethral.  Been on Uroxatral since May.  PVP
Meds to stop getting up at night to pee?04 Feb 2005 14:05 GMT13

So....what are some effective solutions that you've tried?
1 year post PVP04 Feb 2005 00:35 GMT8
A quick note of encouragement for those of you who have had a PVP.
Had PVP over a year ago.  Urologist told me it would take a good 6-8
months before I healed and things returned to normal.  At 8 months I
felt like things were normal, but I was wrong.  Improvement continued
Difference between flomax and Uroxatral03 Feb 2005 03:09 GMT1
I see mention of Uroxatral. I've used flomax for years. It worked great, but
now things are heading south.
I've also read about Uroxatral, which is a newer medication, but it seems to
work on the same principal as flomax (alpha blocker).

Daddyo, How does this frequency compare to pre-pvp and has your uro
comented on this or the bleeding you mention and does he expect no
more bleeding and the frequency to improve?

PVP Five weeks ago01 Feb 2005 12:53 GMT3
I had my PVP five weeks ago in St Augustine. Dr lin was the surgeon,
everything was progressing well; good stream, pain inside the penis near the
tip almost gone. Very happy until the last few days when my prostate has
started to ache, getting worse day by day. I will call Dr ...
