PVP-2 weeks31 Dec 2004 22:31 GMT5
Well, another week has gone by so thought I would pass
on what's happening.
Still minor pain..discomfort...when peeing. Usually, especially
as the day goes on, just a bit pinkish and a very occasional
After PVP30 Dec 2004 22:26 GMT1
Well, I had my PVP surgery at about noon on Tuesday, spent the night in the
hospital, and came home yesterday morning after the catheter was removed and
I urinated four times to check the clarity, which improved immensely each
time.  The power of the urinary stream absolutely ...
TURP last week30 Dec 2004 08:43 GMT7
Hey, Guys!
I'm a guy in my late 50's.  Had a TURP of the third lobe last week.  Had
a top Uro and it seemed to go well.  5 days have passed, and I have an
aching in my loins.  Passing very little blood or clots.  Sitting seems
Healing of Retro at about 1 yr post PVP!28 Dec 2004 02:56 GMT4
For those of you who've read my previous postings about getting retro post-
2nd PVP, I would like to share that there has been an improvement in the
last few weeks. Sometimes there is a tiny amount, sometimes a small amount,
once semen with a pink color, and sometimes no semen at ...
what is retro?27 Dec 2004 16:55 GMT3
I keep reading posts mentioning this.  What is it?  Does it cause any harm?
What is the evidence?
I notice the volume of ejaculate is a fraction of what it was when I was
younger.  Is this a symptom of retro?
PVP day 627 Dec 2004 01:37 GMT10
Well, a little bit of one step backwards.  PVP 6 days ago,
all going great. A little bit of discomfort when I pee, but
no big deal.  During the day, seems like I have to go
pretty often, but flow is good. Not too much in the bladder
progesterone27 Dec 2004 01:29 GMT1
Has anyone heard about this hormone being beneficial to the prostate?
According to some material I have read daily application of a natural
progesterone cream to the back of the scrotum will ensure absorption of
about 5 mg.  Progesterone in cited as a natural antagonist to estrogen ...

Finasteride and Fiber24 Dec 2004 18:14 GMT1
Hi. I've been taking a 500mg tablet of apple pectin (soluble fiber)
every morning along with oatmeal. It recently occurred to me that this
might affect the absorption of Propecia, which i usually take around
mid-day. For example, I've read that some thyroid medications are not
Thanks23 Dec 2004 23:24 GMT3
First, I want to thank all you guys for being here.  I've been a lurker on
this group--and in its archives--since last Tuesday when, after a cysto by
Dr. Lin, he recommended a PVP for my BPH and "tipped" bladder (I have an
ileostomy, so there's nothing in there to hold it up) ...
PVP for BPH was a snap.  :-)  21 Dec 2004 18:10 GMT8
I thought Wednesday would never come.  As some of you know, I've contributed
to this newsgroup and did my fair share of complaining about the side
effects of Flomax and Xatrol, and also of DHT inhibitors such as Saw
Palmetto and PROSCAR.  Those days are now behind me!
PVP For Median Lobe Protrusion - Ball-Valve20 Dec 2004 22:51 GMT3
Anyone have any information or experience with PVP for a median lobe
protrusion into the bladder aka a ball-valve?
TUNA, TUMT, thermal, alcohol, etc. are NG for a ball-valve.  That leaves
TURP, PVP or holmium laser as the only alternatives.
Gyrus TURP19 Dec 2004 23:19 GMT5
Some weeks ago I asked if anyone on this group had any experience with Gyrus
TURP. After doing some research I've decided to go ahead and get 'it' done
so I'm scheduled to have a Gyrus TURP on the 23 of March next year at the
General hospital in Ipswich.
permanent catheterization19 Dec 2004 00:02 GMT11
I've been away from this group for some time now, but I'm the guy who
had two TURPS that didn't work and am still wearing a permanent
catheter. I have a temporary suprapubic catheter now because my uro
couldn't thread the regular catheter through my urethra at the last
PVP-day 218 Dec 2004 23:36 GMT4
This is day 2 post PVP and will pass along the results.
PVP at 2:00PM, took about an hour. Home by 5:00 with
a catheter. Return to office in the AM and catheter
removed. Finally peed successfully about 2:00 or so.
