PVP + WEEK SIX
There has been virtually no change since week three.  I continue to have
discomfort and pain throughout the entire urinary tract including the prostrate
when I have a sudden urge to void.  This persists during voiding and for a few
UK PVP + 15 days18 Dec 2003 10:24 GMT1
Everything, and I do mean everything, now functioning
normally!<G> (With apologies to Haditdone).
I did predict that my recovery after PVP was going to make
pretty boring reading as it seemed so straight forward. I feel
How many PVPs does a doc have to do before he is proficient?17 Dec 2003 13:57 GMT18
My Uro who I really like has just taken the PVP course and will be
doing PVP as soon as the hospital buys the machine early next year. Is
there anything wrong with being his first or maybe 5th or 10th case?
He tells me that the skills he needs to do the PVP are the same as the
Laser Type17 Dec 2003 08:26 GMT5
Is there any any information available that compares the green-light laser
to the indigo laser regarding their relative effectivness in treating BPH.
Would the results and procedures be similar?   Thanks.  Art
Flomax17 Dec 2003 01:33 GMT12
Have any of you who are taking Flomax noticed that it makes you drowsy?
While doing reasearch on treatments for BPH I saw that one of the possible
side effects is drowsiness. I have been taking Flomax for about three years.
It is nearly impossible for me to watch TV after dinner ...
PVP + 38 days (approx)16 Dec 2003 21:03 GMT1
I had my PVP done on 11/7/03 and reported on my experiences about two weeks
ago. On 12/5/03 I was prescribed a course of Cipro for a mild infection in
the bladder, symptoms of which were reduced flow and burning.
On 12/13 just after completion of the Cipro course, I noticed ...
Post PVP doctors appointments16 Dec 2003 05:58 GMT9
I had a very successful PVP on Oct. 20th.
The uro had me in for two check ups since them. To those of you who had
good PVP results -- how many required visits did you uro want before he
released you on your own?
What tests before PVP??16 Dec 2003 02:02 GMT7
I'll be seeing a uro on 1/5. I might or might not have BPH (at one time I
was certain it was that, but the last few months I have had mucho problems
also mimicking prostatitis/cystitis).
Anyway, what tests am I likely in for as part of the dx.
Tubes used during a PVP14 Dec 2003 21:54 GMT2
I seem to remember seeing a statement a while ago to the effect that a
single-use-only (fibre?) tube is used for each PVP, priced at 1,000(?)
USD/UKP.    Is this true?
If so, what is to prevent their re-use, to save money?
PVP conference in Canada14 Dec 2003 20:47 GMT2
I did a recent Google on PVP in Canada and I found that there have been
two recent conferences for Uros in Canada to study PVP. The most recent
one was just down the road in Toronto about two weeks ago.
So, I will probably be a proverbial Gadfly and start asking around to
UK PVP+10 days14 Dec 2003 13:26 GMT7
We had a shoot scheduled for today and I had arranged to
delegate organization to a friend. Yesterday, I put my feet up
by the fire and had a day off after the fiasco with the bogged
Land Rover and trailer.
No PVP or Avodart in Edinburgh.13 Dec 2003 23:32 GMT4
I had an appointment with an NHS urologist in Edinburgh on Friday. My GP had
referred me as I had twice asked him for Avodart after it was approved for
use in the UK earlier this year and he was dubious about prescribing it for
me. The uro looked through my notes as I had first ...
Catheter -- effect on bladder muscle?13 Dec 2003 20:26 GMT4
Have had a catheter for three weeks now, after an abrupt retention problem
(due, presumably to my enlarged prostate suddenly getting even bigger). An
attempt at removing the catheter after a couple of days was unsuccessful, in
that flow was too little. I was booked for the TURP, ...
TUMT vs PVP13 Dec 2003 16:13 GMT13
Have any of you contemplated a decision between microwave and laser? The
decision for me now is between those two. This group has strongly supported
PVP and that carries a great deal of weight with me because those of you who
have had the operation know first hand. On the other hand ...
