Saw Palmetto And Effect On PSA Test Results ?30 Dec 2003 13:58 GMT1
Is there any (reliable) evidence that taking Saw Palmetto effects, or
modifies, the PSA cancer test results that one has periodically ?
Have seen contradictory reports on this.
What's the latest thinking on ?
Saw Palmetto:  How Does It Work Quest. ?30 Dec 2003 13:55 GMT3
Might someone please explain how Saw Palmetto "works" ?
e.g.:
What mechanism does it possess (or effect) that potentially reduces
the frequency of nightly urination ?
Cause of prostate enlargement30 Dec 2003 11:47 GMT2
I have been told that the enlargement/pressure of the prostate which
is the trouble is due to a build up of fluid not able to escape to the
urethra as the way is blocked. Also that the blockage can be easily
undone. Is this so? My doctor knows nothing about this. It says it at
LTURP30 Dec 2003 04:21 GMT11
Laserscope has a great new prostate procedure but they errored in naming it.
They should have gone with LTURP. Greenlight PVP, or just, PVP, as they call
it is still a very much an unknown in the insurance and the urological
community. TURP is a known as it has been the gold ...

Anybody else have this? My frequency is ok during the morning and

seem to produce a lot of urine , the frequency increases and I get
some Urgency during this time. at night one or at most two visits. Uro
Uribag in US?28 Dec 2003 20:18 GMT4
I saw a post about the convenience of a uribag.  Found using Google but all
distributors seem to be in England.  Anybody know of a US distributor.
Looks handy for LA Freeways and many other occasions.  This emergency
urinary bag looks well designed.
night time voiding28 Dec 2003 18:22 GMT2
I have noticed that many people have to get up several times in the night to
void, once I have got into bed and finally get to sleep, I normally do not
need to go until the morning.
If I stay in bed longer than normal I don't get the urge to go, but as soon
Best BPH sites?28 Dec 2003 09:37 GMT11
I am doing some research for an article on BPH that I am writing
for the British press.
The main theme will be my own experiences leading up to my PVP
earlier this month.
BPH Quest's.  Also re Doxazosin27 Dec 2003 21:38 GMT2
Have recently been diognosed as having bph.
Very confused about it, and if anyone might have a spare minute or so, would
be most appreciative for any clarifications, etc.
Am very confused over what bph is, and isn't.
Hurt hip today --- uh...oh27 Dec 2003 12:44 GMT1
I realize it is OT, but maybe you folks have some knowledge about this.
I am supposed to see the new PVP urologist on 1/5.
I'm a 57 yr. old male. I was shoveling snow. Bottom line:  I slipped badly
on the ice about 8 hours ago. I went up and then landed hard on my left hip.
Basic TURP/PVP Question26 Dec 2003 19:57 GMT3
For these surgical techniques that burn or laser their way thru the
prostate, don't they also destroy the urethral canal as it passes thru
the organ.    Wouldn't this leave a new canal composed of prostate
scar tissue?
PVP on Monday25 Dec 2003 09:03 GMT4
I had PVP done on Monday, after a negative biopsy last Friday (thank
goodness). I'll report in full when I'm back in front of my home
computer (early next week), but in general everything went smoothly,
and I'm delighted to be out of hospital now with no catheter, rather
The Prostate Formula24 Dec 2003 22:24 GMT2
I have been taking 3 tablets a day of The Prostate Formula to relieve my
having to urinate from 3 to 4 times at night. I was using Hytrin and
flomax but did not like the side effects, and still had to get up
several times at night.
