Dr Te in NYC Too Busy To Talk On Phone With Patients Seeking PVP Advice17 Oct 2003 14:37 GMT5
I wanted to talk with Dr Te to ask a few questions on PVP and get his
personal thinking on it.  I also wanted to get a sense of what he was
like.  All I got was push back from his medical staff.  I called 3
times in 2 days. Finally, someone called me back…but all they wanted
Cystoscopy and PVP16 Oct 2003 14:06 GMT22
The uro I am using says he does not need to scope me prior to the PVP since a
scope is used during the procedure anyway.  I would think it might be a good
idea to ensure that the blockage is really BPH and not something else.  Anyone
have any comments?
UK PVP +10 days15 Oct 2003 23:22 GMT5
I first went into retention back in 1999, and have been on the
verge of it ever since, with a pathetic flow rate, getting rid of
80 to 120 ml a go. If  bladder content got above 500ml then
I had to catheterise.
PVP/UK - London trip!!!!15 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT8
I left Inverness at 8am on Monday 6th in plenty of time for my PVP
scheduled at King's College Hospital at 7.30am on Wednesday 8th October.
When I arrived at KCH I was advised that there had been a flood (!) and the
operation was cancelled. It has been re-scheduled for 10th ...

I asked Dr.Lin if there was ejaculation after PVP.
Dear Michael: The retrograde ejaculation is about 30 % within 3 months after
PVP.. When the time goes  it still has chance to improved, if the muscular
Dad feeling better after post "What's up"14 Oct 2003 08:23 GMT1
Thanks to those replies from my last post about my 83 yr old Dad seeing a
country doctor.
He did get to see a (small) city doctor,  a specialist of some sort, who has
recommended a biopsy and an ultrasound.
PVP done in Providence -- results14 Oct 2003 01:10 GMT11
Because this group has been so helpful to me in assessing the benefits of
PVP, I would like to describe my own recent experience with the procedure.
Background:  Age 68 -- Slowly worsening BPH symptoms for at least 10 years -
need to urinate 4-5 times during the night, week stream ...

Color Doppler Ultrasound - any successes, false negatives ?11 Oct 2003 12:17 GMT1
There is a lot of talk on these groups about Color Doppler UltraSound,
and CDUS-guided biopsy. I am wondering, has anybody actually beed
diagnosed with a PCa using CDUS when other diagnostics before it
failed ? And the other way around - has anybody had a negative CDUS
Could a male fertility pill adversely affect inhibition via allopregnanolone levels?11 Oct 2003 11:14 GMT4
There's a new male contraceptive pill being tested which involves doses
of testosterone - human, I would hope - combined with progestin, a
synthetic progesterone derivative.  Used together, they're reported to
shut down sperm production.

First I want to thank this news group who have helped me to know there

for 15 years. My Uro tried to get me to have a rooter ruter job 10

What's next?07 Oct 2003 21:33 GMT6
My Dad seems to be having some difficulty with his prostate. He is 83 years
young - very active, otherwise excellent health but tells me that for the
past few days he's had blood in his urine, quite a lot he says but no other
symptoms. (Rectal exam a few weeks ago showed  that it ...
1st uro visit-local or out-of-town?07 Oct 2003 21:16 GMT5
I've decided to see a urologist visit about my BPH.  I assume I'm a
candidate for surgical treatment based on the lack of effectiveness of
either saw palmetto, beta sistosterol, or Flowmax (prescribed by my GP).
Based on the anecdotal evidence from this newsgroup and a layman's ...
