Ok so BPH isn,t enough? Ive been taking Proscar and Hytin now for about 3 years. Recently we've all been reading contradictory reports about Proscar actually causing prostate cancer. Another artical will say it prevents the same cancer. Does anyone really know the facts?

Just started using Flomax. Am having a stuffy nose and headache. I know these are common side effects. Just wondering... will they last as long as I'm on Flomax or will they subside? Also... how long before I can expect the Flomax to start working? Thanks!

The big day, had the catheter removed.(no big deal). Was told to drink LOTS of liquid, then come back in the afternoon for a ultrasound to see how the bladder was being voided. A few hours later, lots of liquid, and NO WAY to pee. Back to the uro in

I have posted here before because my urologist had recommended (2 years ago) that I get HoLEP. Of course, I have been putting off any surgery as long as I can. I now have a 117 gram prostate, 7 negative PCa biopsiesÂ…and, recently I have had a very a bad irritation.

My uro tells me that according to conclusive scientific studies Proscar prevents cancer. It also shrinks the prostate gland. Does anybody have an opinion on this? Ted

Day 2 after the TUNA. 3 or 4 clots passed, no other blood. Pain mostly gone now. Laying low, catheter has another 2 days to go. Biggest 'pain' was the first BM. Zork

Today I saw my regular uro in Seattle for the yearly DRE. All is well. I informed him about PVP by Dr Laub in Santa Barbara in May. He was impressed with the results and understanding for going out of town for treatment. We have now PVP in Seatlle.
