PVP at Princess Royal Hospital25 Aug 2003 18:05 GMT10
There are two hospitals in the U.K. which offer the Laserscope PVP
treatment, one of them is Princess Royal Hospital in Sussex.  There
are 2 urologists carrying out PVP at Princess Royal and I made an
appointment with Mr Tim Larner.  At the consultation Mr Larner
PVP Verus Open Prostatectomy For 117 Gram Prostate24 Aug 2003 10:42 GMT10
I was told in another forum that PVP was not the best choice for my
117 gram prostate.  That the best solution was an open prostatectomy
was best.  I think this person was an MD.
Here was the ratioanle:
Bloody Semen23 Aug 2003 23:29 GMT2
Flowmax restores my flow well enough and my PSA is 1.5, but lately
I'm experiencing brown semen, pretty regularly.
My web search has alsmost convinced me it's no worse
than nose bleed. Yet I wonder.
Avodart vs Proscar23 Aug 2003 19:01 GMT2
Had my annual with the Uro today.  He suggested I try Avodart to replace the
Proscar I've been on for about 7 years.   Any other experiences with making
this transition?

Exposure to  pesticides and psa 20 Aug 2003 20:27 GMT4
I recently had an unexplained high psa of 6.8. my doctor told me to wait and
then redo the test since I had a negative biopsy 7 months ago. He said it
might be do to inflamation. Afterwards while reconstructing events I
realized that I had an exterminator in the house just a few ...
PVP verus Indigo Laser13 Aug 2003 06:25 GMT3
I have been following the PVP dialogue for some time.  It seems that
it is better than Indigo Laser except in one area: retrograde
ejaculation, which is about 30% for PVP and about zero for Indigo.
Also, Indigo does not destroy the urethra, while I think PVP basically
PVP + 12 days on a very large prostate13 Aug 2003 01:55 GMT1
I just got off the phone with Dr. Lin.  He did a PVP on me on July 31, 2003.
I had a prostate that exceeded 150 grams.
Dr Lin asked if there is still blood in my urination.  I explained that the
beginning of the stream is red or pink but it clears and runs yellow towards
PVP and Biopsy10 Aug 2003 21:42 GMT2
Like many here I am wrestling with the question: TURP or PVP?
My Uro (in the UK) is not very enthusiastic about PVP and prefers the "Gold
Standard" TURP. He is a very experienced and respected Surgeon but perhaps a
little conservative?
TUIP: recovery time ?07 Aug 2003 23:22 GMT5
I had a TUIP nine days ago; a rather unpleasant, but not intolerable experience. I would like to speak with others who have had this procedues, to compare notes on healing times, bleeding, etc.
I am still passing some blood, particularly in the morning. There is also a ...

I have a TUNA scheduled for Thursday. I have not planned to take Friday off

round trip in my truck of 3 hours each way to deliver a load of furniture to
a mountain cabin. I also plan to do some work on the ...
Memory Stick Pro06 Aug 2003 09:15 GMT5
I have purchased a 256mb Memory Stick Pro, mainly because I was led to
believe that it would write faster to the card from the camera and download
quicker to the computer. My camera is supposed to support the Pro! (Sony DSC
P92)
My ILC uro's opinion of PVP06 Aug 2003 04:45 GMT13
My ILC uro's opinion of PVP:
"Have been hearing more about the newer laser being marketed by laserscope,
but haven't yet seen anything that makes me think that this will be
substantively different from any of the other currently existent
Three month PVP check-up05 Aug 2003 06:59 GMT1
Had my three month PVP post-op check-up today.  Actually it has only
been 9 weeks and 4 days.  I still have retro, but other that that, I'm
a happy customer.  The possibility of retro going in was 50/50,
because of a very large medial lobe up into the neck of the bladder
