I found some light brown powder material in my son's wastebasket and also a pop can which he had obviously crushed in alittle bit and there was a burned pile of black ashy substance on it. How do I find out what this is before I confront my son?

A relative of mine recently had major bouts of nausea, induced by a severe sinus issue. They tried Zofran for the sickness, but it had little effect, due to the origin of the problem. The nausea was shortly after resolved by a surgical procedure on the sinus area , anyway.
