How to destroy unused antibiotics30 Oct 2005 16:55 GMT13

to a per prescription of a different antibiotic for 7 days.   I am
supposed to stop taking the first prescription.  Due to the nature of
bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics I was curious if there was a
portrayal of pharmacists30 Oct 2005 16:33 GMT7
Nurses on sci.med.nursing were talking about nursing stereotypes, and how
nurses are portrayed on film and TV. This inspired me to post here about how
pharmacists are portrayed (or, not portrayed).
Some examples:

How does one tell they are starting to get tardive dyskenisia?
I am weaning off zyprexa and currently at 3.1mg. My lips feel a little
odd and I feel a compulsion to lick them frequently.
Medicine dose for different races25 Oct 2005 03:09 GMT4
On the science of pharmacy, is there any theory or research saying that
people in different races may respond differently to dosage of

Long Term Storage of Tamiflu22 Oct 2005 19:48 GMT6
Is there some form of Tamiflu that has a longer than one-year storage
period?   The prescriptions I have gotten for immediate use all have
one-year expirations.   I am reading various places that there are some
Tamiflu boxes that are marked for three to five year expirations.
relafen22 Oct 2005 17:48 GMT2
Is Relafen known for causing anxiety, confusion, disorientation?  I know
there are idiosyncratic reactions to everything, but I am wondering if it is
common for Relafen to do this?
Thank you,
Article in Consumer Reports Last Month21 Oct 2005 18:36 GMT3
In either last month or the month before that (Sep & Oct), Consumer
Reports magazine ran an article comparing mail order places to buy
Lisinopril and Lipitor.  I had the issue, but threw it out before I got
the info from that article.
Pseudoephedrine vs. phenylephrine19 Oct 2005 16:57 GMT3
Now that OTC Sudafed is changing from one of these to the other, is
there a scientific comparison of these 2 drugs available somewhere?  I
know they are very similar.

Foreign language prescription labeling12 Oct 2005 07:13 GMT3
Recently there has been an increase in prescriptions bearing the notation:
"label in <language>".  Usually, due to my geographic location, the language
is Spanish in which case I can usually find a co-worker (a non-pharmacist)
to translate from English into Spanish.  I do, however, ...
Authority of R.Ph. to perform kinetics monitoring12 Oct 2005 02:41 GMT5
A hospital near me was recently challenged by a JCAHO surveyor to show
how kinetics monitoring was not the practice of medicine by a
pharmacist. She was not satisfied by the hospital's policy. They
eventually got the issue dropped, but it made us think about refining
A question about Clonidine10 Oct 2005 22:59 GMT1

are usually seen within 2 to 4 hours.'
electronic prescriptions08 Oct 2005 17:20 GMT13
For the last three to five years, pharmacy trade journals have been touting
