I'm exercising to build up muscle on my upper body, and part of my

I know that many commerical bread producers commonly add preservatives and mold
inhibitors to their products.  Can anyone tell me when they started doing this
on a large scale such that when we buy bread it has an expiration date,
sometimes up to 20 days after its sale.

A few weeks ago, on a pledge night, PBS had a woman (without credentials)
making a presentation on heartburn.  Her claim was that the cure for people
who use antacids was to take acid instead.  Her theory was that the acid
would trigger the sphincter to the esophagus to close.
