Army's Nutritional Patch17 Mar 2005 04:38 GMT4
Hi, All:
Today's NYT (link below) notes, at the end of the article on a military
culinary competition, that the Army is developing some kind of a
"transdermal nutrient patch" so that service personnel like a downed

work that once seems so easy, is now so hard. I was told to lose
weight, and now this news has paralyzed me to eating more, and ofcourse
gaining more weight. I am annoyed by everyone, and I push others way. I

HEALTH THREAT!16 Mar 2005 10:44 GMT25
I am an MD who uses natural treatments (Nutritional Medicine, herbs,
etc.) with my patients.  But unless we, the health-oriented public,
take action now, in a very short time we will no longer have the legal
right to make these choices.  CODEX ALIMENTARIUS (CA) is already law in

Sodium Glucose Cotransport14 Mar 2005 08:53 GMT2
Had some trouble searching a site that explains this concept. Can
someone with some knowledge of this explain this to me. I don't really
need equations and such, just need to know how it works.
Or a link to a "How this works" site would be nice.
Acrylamides and pressure cooking.13 Mar 2005 19:59 GMT5
I've recently bought a pressure cooker and then remembered about
acrylamides.  In 2002 acrylamides produced during cooking made the
headlines, and I haven't heard anything since.  In the UK there is no
information at www.food.gov.uk.  Are the facts being suppressed?  Where

Calcium and USRDA guidelines13 Mar 2005 02:32 GMT3
There was a story on the other day that supposedly it's been determined that
the calcium in milk is not useful to humans. Yet, the label on the milk
carton lists, as it has for years, the amount of calcium as a percentage of
the USRDA. Was it not at some point determined that items ...
Vegan Diet did NOT Kill Florida Child - a Bizarre Case of Oppression13 Mar 2005 02:20 GMT41
I like myself a hamburger as much as the next guy, but I am pissed as
hell that this family is undergoing this kind of bogus persecution
over a scientific issue that the prosecutors in Florida don't
understand!
Incredible News about Diet/Health from Associated Press !!!!!!!!!12 Mar 2005 13:40 GMT1
This has got to be some sort of joke.  They must really think they are
talking to people with the intellectual abilities of 2 year old
children.  At least it's good for a laugh.  Veggies good, pork chops
bad... very bad!
100 things to do to live to a 10012 Mar 2005 07:19 GMT5
1. Grill a steak. You may think it's bad for your heart, but you'd be
wrong. Beef contains immunity-boosting selenium as well as
homocysteine-lowering B vitamins. And up to 50 percent of the fat is
the heart-healthy monounsaturated variety.
Vitamin E10 Mar 2005 21:08 GMT6
The other day I was in Vitamin World to buy various stuff and some more
Vitamin E. They had the cheaper synthetic type and the natural for
twice the price. I was just going to buy the cheaper synthetic "DL"
kind when the clerk told me that it could cause liver damage and I
