Tonalin CLA experience28 Feb 2005 20:58 GMT4
A while back I ordered Tonalin CLA, only to do some more research

seemed to show at most a trivial human response to the stuff.
However having it I took it anyways. A while back a friend commented

Is there Sudan 1 in our food?26 Feb 2005 13:47 GMT2
Sudan 1 is a red dye used to color polishes, waxes and solvents. It
isn't meant to be used in food because it's carcinogenic.
Europe is recalling ~500 food products because some Indian supplier
put Sudan 1 in its chili powder. What about America? The FDA has been
Beta-cryptoxanthin24 Feb 2005 22:36 GMT3
Anyone ever heard of this antioxidant. Apparently it is abundant in
citrus. Don't know what the health benefits might be or what the
research says.
I'm only asking because I hear somebody may start making it as a

Does the quality double too?
Brown but still crisp lettuce24 Feb 2005 17:52 GMT3
After several days in the fridge, an otherwise fresh and unopened
(cellophane wrapped) head of iceberg lettuce started to turn
brown on the interior leaves.   Is it still OK to eat?
The outside leaves were still green and OK but I usually toss
Rancitidity of cooking oil and its spread24 Feb 2005 10:16 GMT19
If cooking oil goes rancid in a container then would any oil poured
into that same (unwashed) container go rancid more quickly?
(1)  I have the impression that a trace of rancid oil acts like a
sort of catalyst for rancidity in non-rancid oil.
too much fiber24 Feb 2005 08:13 GMT6
Anyone know of good home remedies for people sensitive to fiber?  White
rice is helpful to me but I'm wondering what else would be.  Beano is
kind of pricey and you have to take it at the beginning of the meal,
which could get complicated because you don't always know what food is

Is it true that salmon is white and that they add some colour to it to
make it pink ?
And is that toxic ?

2 questions for the experts out there...
1.  I'm sure many of you would agree that an ideal diet should include
a wide variety of vegetables everyday, but if for some reason you had
to eat the same, say, 4 or 5 vegetables each day, which would be the
