PPO Pricing Question06 Dec 2004 02:20 GMT4
My understanding of PPO pricing is thus:
1.  Dr. Smith states his procedure costs $40,000.
2.  PPO contracts to pay Dr. Smith $10,000.  Of this $10,000, patient
pays a small part.
Gall Bladder Question05 Dec 2004 17:09 GMT10
A friend of mine recently had her Gall Bladder out because of "serious
reflux".  She had no pain.  My question is, is how exactly does the gall
bladder cause heartburn or acid reflux?  It doesn't seem to me like it
should.  But I'm no doctor, so here I be.
Eidetic Memory affected by Vegetarian Diet?05 Dec 2004 07:01 GMT2
I am wondering if there are any resources out there about
vegetarianism and how it affects eidetic memory.  I have an eidetic
memory for text.  When I began a vegetarian diet (including milk
products and eggs), after a week I noticed I could not remember text

Argument against higher-animal experiments.04 Dec 2004 12:54 GMT3
Animal consciousness versus human consciousness by J. Holme.
As far as we can tell the main difference between humans and other animals
is not biological but technological. We share 95% plus of our DNA with our
nearest primate cousins and yet they share virtually none of our ...

Antibiotics for Sinusitis?03 Dec 2004 22:52 GMT10
Curious if there are any new ones, that work particularly well for
sinusitis.
I used to be on antibiotics for chronic sinusitis a good part of the year,
so I know all the ones that were prescribed as of a few years ago.
Hernia question.03 Dec 2004 21:53 GMT3
I have a personal, somewhat embarrassing question.
When I was a young kid, my testicles would often rise up out of the scrotum
and then reappear. I could slight push above my waist and the testicle would
easily drop down also. When I was around 8 or 9, I experienced bad pain in

Testosterone added to Estrogen/Progestin Therapy reduces breast cancer risk toward baseline02 Dec 2004 23:08 GMT3
This isn't the only piece of evidence of the value of androgens/testosterone
therapy in women. But it makes it clear the testosterone isn't only
about sexual pleasure but also about life. If ERT regimens were no
longer a risk breast cancer, they'd be more useful. Even taken alone
Why Are My Pupils Smaller?02 Dec 2004 22:54 GMT3
When I turned 50 I noticed the world growing dimmer and darker. I could not see
nearly as well, in the dark, as I had always done in (younger) life. I began to
take supplements and eat green leafy vegetables, and that did help. But my eyes
still are nothing like when I was just a ...
