I've come across references to a number of mailing lists such
as STAT-L and SAS-L. Does anyone have a listing of these lists,
newsgroups, etc. and would you mind providing me with the
information on how to subscribe to them?
FIL  psychosis23 Jan 2004 20:01 GMT9
My FIL has been on a respirator for a while now.  He doesn't know me
at times and does strange things like ask to see his dead wife and
stretching his arms out as if he is reaching for something.  The
doctor called it psychosis and said that it was related to the

My father is suffering a lot from the side effect of the radiotherapy he

is very coughing, short breathe now, heart beating fast (to 110/min) now
and then. He's taken some antibiotics and oxygen, but didn't help ...

Don't try to force psychiatric treatments upon anybody....22 Jan 2004 16:58 GMT2
In two cases arising from the correctional context, a court has
recognized that "[t]he forcible injection of medication into a
nonconsenting person's body represents a substantial interference with
that person's liberty." Washington v. Harper, 494 U.S. 210,229 (1990),
Water behind the ear22 Jan 2004 12:28 GMT2
I began feeling a muffled sensation in both my ears 2 days ago.  Concerned
me and I seen my MD.  He told me there is water behind my ears in the
Eustachian tubes.  Prescribed me a decongestant and one day later is
clearing.  The Doc couldn't specify WHY.
Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) study on Acute Lower Back Problems in Adults22 Jan 2004 09:28 GMT1
Does anyone know where one can download a copy of this study?  I
downloaded it several years ago, but it seems to have been removed
from the web, and the agency itself was seemingly absorbed into
another agency, which then disappeared.
TMJ and plugged ear22 Jan 2004 05:38 GMT1
I have a TMJ disorder that usually doesn't give me any problems. About
2-3 weeks ago it really flared up. There isn't really any pain unless
I eat something hard or chewy. I've been clenching my teeth and I'm
sure that's what's currently causing my problem but I‘m trying hard to
Any idea on severe pain?21 Jan 2004 23:16 GMT6
This past Thursday I awoke with very severe left lower back pain that
extended around to my left leg.  I ended up going to the ER, my gallbladder
enzymes were a little high, but only by a few points.  They ran tests for
kidney stones, nothing came up.  When I take Darvocet or muscle ...

Is there an alternative to surgery21 Jan 2004 16:42 GMT2
My mother has breast cancer with severe bone metastasis. She broke her
right forearm in a fall with a clean fracture. She's right handed. Her

proof . Of course there is no proof as early on the symptoms of both
are the same and even viral illnesses can cause high temparatures.
In the days before antibiotics were discovered most people
Blood transfusion to increase T cells21 Jan 2004 05:24 GMT7
I have a simplistic theory, which is bound to be wrong for some
