PRAYERS answered31 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT8
I want to thank you all for your kind thoughts and for your prayers for
hubby.
His biopsy came back negative for cancer and we are SO relieved.  Came home
and made our first reservation at an RV resort south for January.
Flu Shots31 Oct 2003 15:01 GMT12
When I read of the allergy shots I thought of the flu shots that everyone
takes this time of year. I have never taken them for fear of messing with my
immune system. What are your thoughts on this. To do or not to do, that is
the question!
CGT: Halloween Costume31 Oct 2003 05:32 GMT4
I have just entertained myself by creating the first real Halloween
costume I've worn in, oh, 30 years. I will wear it when our
Kindergartners have their Halloween parades tomorrow (yes, Thursday).
Since you will probably not see me in the outfit, I will describe it
OT: Mair has TV!30 Oct 2003 21:57 GMT3
Yes, my friends, I took the plunge.  I subscribed to cable TV while they
were having one of these introductory offers.  I didn't really watch it much
today except for some of the fire news.  But I went out and bought a new
remote control, and figured out all the programming ...
hiya sunshines30 Oct 2003 18:30 GMT4
Today is a somewhat better day. I am feeling very minor improvements
mostly mental still, but again I will say that any improvement is
worth celebrating.
It is a lovely day in Texas today, in the 70's.

Some help for Mair?29 Oct 2003 23:54 GMT5
Well after my tenative thoughts about moving, I really realized how alone I
am, and how I really do need help with my day to day life.  Well, I kept the
appointment that I had set up, which was a "housing workshop."  I was hoping
they could put me in touch with the agency I might ...

How's the Asian ladybugs, J?29 Oct 2003 11:37 GMT8
I read that we do have them here, but not bad.  They are awful in Iowa
though.  I haven't noticed any, but I'm watchin' as my house is a light
color & the south side is traffic-free.  Ewwww!  Also, Boxelder bugs!
Ewwww!  I haven't seen any of those yet either though. <phew>
Cannabis May Suppress Immune System29 Oct 2003 11:36 GMT31
Apologies if this has been posted  before but I thought it was very
interesting in view of recent plans in the UK to legalise a cannabis based
medicine for pain releif.

Mair's trip to the Doc28 Oct 2003 22:01 GMT11
Well, I made it down to see the Doc.  His chart said I had not been down
since February!  I guess I lost some time somewhere...
Long story short:  He wants me on less than the 15mg pred that I am now on.
He drew every [pertinant] test in the book, and will have the results in
stem cells collected28 Oct 2003 15:21 GMT8
I am out of the hospital for a week. This month I had a new chemo
(Ara-C) and then took drugs to stimulate my stem cell growth. After a
bit of a scare, I finally grew enough cells to harvest and spent two
days hooked to a machine giving them up.
Mair update28 Oct 2003 00:57 GMT12
I am so tired, so just the basics.
I got my lab results in the mail today.  I don't see anything indicative of
CNS lupus (but probably wouldn't  recognize it if it were there), but I sure
could see raging evidence of thyroid disease and inflammation.
My turn to "delurk"27 Oct 2003 20:44 GMT2
I have been "lurking" for quite some time and thought I would pop in to say
"hey!". Looks like people have been having a rough time lately - I try to
read the posts and remember you all in prayer as I can only imagine how
trying all this can be.
