Do any of you have a current policy concerning the handling of
specimens suspected of infection with select agents in your lab?  By
select agents, I mean anthrax, avian flu, tularemia, etc. as defined by

I have a general question about aPTT/PTT/INR testing. I don't have all
the reference range for the lab, but my results were:
aPTT 33.5 (normal up to 28)
PTT 9.8 (normal; don't know the range)
CLIA waived tests20 Jun 2006 23:18 GMT6
I am just wondering, is there a test for potassium (K+) that is waived by
CLIA? How about BUN and Creat?
We are a dialysis center thinking to do tests in house instead of sending to
a lab.

which it shouldn't have?
