Ok all you microbiologists- I want to take a poll. I like MacConkey, but my
supervisor will hear nothing of it. It's EMB or the highway. What do you guys
like, and why? (I'm hoping for a groundswell of support to buoy my position.)

According to the insert that came with the gel separator tubes, the tubes
can only be spun once in the centrifuge.  Can someone provide an explanation
why one cannot respin the gel separator tubes?  If a SST tube has serum that
has not finished clotting and needs to be wrung to ...

Our 24 hour laboratory has a Double Modular P Biochemistry Analyser
that has to go down for maintenance for one hour a day. No results are

current lab ranges for 25-Hydroxyvitamin D03 Apr 2004 10:07 GMT8
Most of the information I've found on the web indicates a healthy
range for 25-Hydroxyvitamin D of 25-50 mg/mL.  In a review article
just published, Holick (2004) argues for a normal range of 30-50
ng/mL.
