I ran out of my valtrex and was not able to refill until about day 2-3 of my outbreak. It is still in full force unfortuneately. I was wondering if taking Valtrex this late will do any good at all? Either shorten the duration or relieve the pain. I know the Valtrex web page

Yes, I know it is not the end of the world...to have cold sores. I have a question, our babysitter had what looked like dry skin on a cold sore (healing?) and the next day when she stayed the night after she showered here cold sore was bright red.
