| Do I have to tell or no? | 31 Oct 2006 03:19 GMT | 4 |
2 1/2 years back I was diagnosed with having HPV. My form caused cervical dysplasia. No warts. For the last 3 paps (done every 6 months), I have had no abnormal cells. In addition, the last test included a DNA test for strains that tend to cause cancer. They came

| Dirt cheap antivirals :-) | 30 Oct 2006 10:25 GMT | 3 |
Over the years here, I've seen quite a few people state that they have no insurance and they can't afford antivirals. Now, if I understand correctly, Walmart is offering a 30 day supply of 200mg Acyclovir for four dollars. So far, they're extending that offer in 27 states. I

| Hi | 28 Oct 2006 20:07 GMT | 5 |
I am very new to this. After living with Herpes for two years, I finally decided to join a group to talk about it and help ease the emotional burden that comes with it. It's incredibly difficult because most of the time I feel like there is no future for me. I am divorced

| Asymptomatic Shedding Rates | 21 Oct 2006 18:59 GMT | 1 |
I found a good review article on the rates of asymptomatic shedding of HSV. Oral HSV-1 appears to shed 7-10% of the time, while genital HSV-2 appears to shed 4.7% of the time. http://jac.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/45/suppl_4/1.pdf

| Topical Hot peppers and Calcium chewable. | 20 Oct 2006 08:17 GMT | 8 |
Here are 2 articles about hot peppers (capsaicin) and Ca: we can corelate these 2 and the result may be surprising; are you ready for a try out? (if you have a cold sore, open a red hot chilli pepper

| Infect yourself with Herpes? | 18 Oct 2006 03:01 GMT | 24 |
If someone's partner has Herpes, and there is thus a likely chance that one may contract the virus, would it make sense to purposefully infect oneself in a small place on the arm, so that one would develop antibodies, and not end up with a bigger infection?

| Ureaplasam | 17 Oct 2006 17:25 GMT | 1 |
I hope you all are doing well. I know this is a herpes support group, but I wanted to throw this out there if anyone has any input. I was just diagnosed with Ureaplasma infection and doc prescribed Doxycycline for it. I was told it's not an STD although it is transmitted

| More confusing??? | 16 Oct 2006 07:54 GMT | 31 |
I am terribly sorry to be ignorant about this, but I read a bit more and found no clear cut answer. Like I posted before, two and a half years ago I tested positive for Herpes. They didn't/couldn't tell me if it were type 1 or 2. I was told there was no distinction in

| I/II vs oral/genital | 11 Oct 2006 15:06 GMT | 25 |
I am getting more and more confused. Can both types I and II be either oral OR genital? For example, but not limited to this, can genital be spread to the oral area of another person? It is my growing understanding that initially it was thought that I (One) was primarily oral but ...

| Newly diagnosed with lots of questions | 09 Oct 2006 03:10 GMT | 35 |
Here's my scenario. I was recently diagnosed with HSV-2, negative for HSV-1 and herpes-zoster. At first, the GP thought I had shingles because the only place I've ever had an outbreak is on my hip. He did a culture using ELVIS. As I understand it, there is no such thing as a false ...

| Odd place | 06 Oct 2006 21:41 GMT | 11 |
I know there is not much that is truly odd about the way that herpes can make you feel. Physically, I mean. But sometimes I get some of the prodrome kind of feelings that seem odd to me! On the back of my right leg I have had a spot for a little over a week now

| Shingles | 04 Oct 2006 13:25 GMT | 2 |
Ya know, I could do some research and find this out myself but I like talking to you all. Also it looks like it is kinda slow in here right now. And since there just might be some new people lurking around waiting to see something helpful....here's a question!
